I actually liked PH more than ST, mainly because it was more difficult.

Kamak wrote:I personally think Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks were better Zelda titles than TP. TP's story was shallow and felt too familiar for my taste, the world was vast, but that vastness only served to show how utterly empty Hyrule was (WW had a vast world too, but I never really felt bored traversing it, there were islands everywhere, ships, towers, etc.), and while the graphics were good, I've never been one to hold them above the gameplay and story of the games. It was not a terrible game in the least, but for me, it was not a good Zelda game.
I liked the emptyness and bleakness of TP, maybe that's because I was used to playing the Metroid Prime games at the time.
TP felt similar to the Metroid Prime games in that regard - empty and haunting.

I haven't played ST. I don't really want to either, In fact I only want to play OoT3d only to see what they did with everything and try master quest. If Nintendo ever made a majora's mask 3d remake, I would buy it because it's pretty much my favorite Zelda game.

Man, Spirit Tracks is really awesome, I'm surprised so many people haven't played it. A decent story, interesting new characters, and some really awesome gameplay makes for a solid game. It also has fantastic music, and the only qualm I can think of is that some of those lokomo duets are next to impossible.
And as for difficulty, the last few floors of the Tower of Spirits were some of the most mind-bending puzzles in all of (recent) Zelda history.

Apparently Skyward Sword is easier than OoT

Now I know this is one person's opinion, and people have different opinions on what constitutes a game being "hard" but still this is a teeny bit upsetting to me, simply because of all the hype about how hard this game is.

I didnt like Spirit Tracks because I was still getting over being upset about Old Hyrule being drowned and what happened to it later.
I mean, you stick about a kingdom for a few millenia and it grows on you yknow. I thought maybe the waves had receded or something and maybe they used Ganondorf for a gargoyle. I felt really too wrapped up in the Old Hyrule to really give Spirit tracks its dues, just because they were constantly shoving that train in your face. I kinda lost my faith in it though when I watched the mailman, in engineer clothing, chug his way over tot he postbox.
That has to be incredibly ridiculous. I lost it for a good minute.

The Legend of Zelda: February 21, 1986
Wind Waker: December 13, 2002
16 years = millenia

How do you lose your faith in a game where a traditionally quirky character acts quirky?
That's like saying Minish Cap makes Tingle tolerable even though he's just as much of an annoying piece of crap as he is in every other game that features him.

AAAAAH
THAT AVATAR
AAAAAH
Anyway, I think Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game I've had both the chance and motive to pick up somewhere near launch.

Well, first off it was only drowned in that timeline...in the other timeline it's perfectly fine.
Also, the train isn't that out of place really. I never understood why people freaked out about it technology-wise. Zelda's always had samples of advanced technology. Remote controlled bombs, hookshot, etc.
Spirit Tracks really is a good, solid game. You should give it a try.

The tri-force is now a portal to earth that the aliens are going to use to blow it up.
