Finally got around to preordering skyward sword, the collectors edition. The clerk asked if I wanted the walk-through to go with it. What's the point the point of playing a puzzle/adventure game if you are just going to use a walkthrough? That just leaves the fighting. I'm not going to pay $50 just to fight enemies in legend of zelda.

I prefer online guides to make sure I find everything in the game. I'll probably want a reference to see what upgrades to weapons provide which result (in case they do branch, if not, it'll help me find out what I need to hoard to get X upgrade). It baffles me that some people buy/want guides for certain games. I remember one of my friends being upset that they couldn't find a guide for the 3rd Phoenix Wright game. Here's a solution, save the game, and present EVERYTHING.

However, the only guides I willingly buy (mom inevitably buys me guides for games she gets me for Christmas, there's no arguing with her anymore) are for Pokemon games, mostly because I prefer flipping through a phonebook-sized book to get my Pokedex information than going to sites like Serebii. I guess I'm weird like that.

Without fail, every time I find a piece of already-released media I am interested in, I always look at the plot/meaning/walkthrough at least weeks before I actually get my hands on it.

I have no idea why. Maybe I have an extremely strong sense of curiosity.

Hopefully Skyward Sword will be the exception once it's released.

And I'm the exact opposite. I watch only enough trailers to know how the game works and the basic story, then I find everything out on my own.

Then if I get extremely stuck when I play the game, I either give up on it or give in and find a walkthrough.

Frankly, as a right-handed person, I am not disappointed.

Also, look up the definition of "cistern", and you might stop questioning what kind of dungeon it is.

It really does. But without the poison water and the angry fruit throwing trees.

I guess I won't mind as long as the boss isn't a spider-queen youkai. After all, Tsuta Ruins were fun.

Did the Tsuta Ruins have a lot of water in it? I don't even remember. I also don't remember it being shellacked in gold.

But they're both pretty and asiany so sure.

I like to use guides when I'm trying to 100% a game and can't figure out what I'm missing for that last 2%.
