My bad, I thought it was about OoT. Wind Waker is more interesting.

Although now that you spoiled the ending for me, I have to say that a character sacrificing himself or herself to save others is still daisies cheesy regardless of the context.

I kind of want to play Link to the Past again, but it's going to be trouble digging the SNES out. I heard Four Swords is essentially a LttP remake, is that accurate?

I'm pretty sure that Four Swords on the Gamecube is standalone, and that's a four-player coop game. A Link to the Past was ported (with a few additions) and bundled with Four Swords on the GBA. You were able to unlock a few things in A Link to the Past, including a new sword technique and a dungeon with harder versions of previous bosses by playing Four Swords.

4 swords on the GBA has to be played with 2 or more people, while 4 swords on the gamecube can be played alone, and it is NOTHING like a LttP. There are "levels" in the game, each world ending with a dungeon. I mean, each level is pretty open, but don't compare it to LttP. i had had it for GCN, and it was pretty fun, but also pretty short.

This is probably what I heard and misinterpreted.

He doesn't sacrifice himself. He could have easily gone with them, but chooses to stay behind because he believes his time is over, and it's Link and Tetra's turn to create a new Hyrule.

you should've put that in spoilers, since not everyone beat the game.

you're kidding right

no everyone has watched Star Wars but i don't think anyone will whine about being spoiled that Vader is Luke's father

once a game is several years old, the statute of limitations for spoilers is kinda run dry

Yes, comparing a popular 31-year-old movie to an 8-year-old video game makes perfect sense.

portal 2 has been spoiled everywhere in a matter of months. i don't know one person who doesn't know the ending of it, so it varies from game to game

Also Exeres is right.

I think after several years of not bothering to play a game, you kinda give up all rights to complain about people spoiling the ending.
I know some people may not have access to the games or console or whatever, but jeeze, are people not allowed to talk about the ending of an 8 year old game without upsetting people?

You can talk about it all you like. Just make sure it's not in plain fucking view.

Spoiler tags for an 8 year old game is pretty ridiculous though. If people talk about the ending to anything are they suppose to spoiler tag it? I mean really. After a certain about of years you can't get upset at people for not tagging everything that might spoil a game for a few people.

That's like people getting rustled at hearing that Snape kills Dumbledore, and that book is only 6 years old. If you really cared, you would have read the book or in this game played the game already.

EDIT: This would be different if someone had asked for people to not spoil Wind Waker when people started talking about it.

But really, how hard is it to just stop reading posts when the ending of the game is brought up? I'm pretty sure there was ample warning.

RE-EDIT: Actually, looking back it was never really stated what game they were talking about.

I think WW's ending is in the "It was his sled" territory by now... especially since everything I said (and more) is revealed in the first 2 minutes of Phantom Hourglass... which itself is nearly 4 years old...

EDIT: Wait, Snape killed Dumbledore? When did this happen and why wasn't I informed?

Also, while the posts in question didn't explicitly state what game was being discussed, the post that started the discussion to begin with was at the top of the page and included the little factoid of what game was in the topic...

Plus, when someone responds to a post you make to question why you made X statement with a spoiler, chances are they're going to look at it and be spoiled, rather than ignore the issue entirely...

ex:
"Didn't Zelda make the Triforce in Zelda 1 or something?"
"Actually, the three goddesses that created Hyrule made it"
