You know what I think is a great example of video games as art?
The music, the graphics, and the hardly-existant storyline that still managed to bring about emotion is what made this game a true artistic masterpiece.

I must say, I can understand both ends of the debate, it's the fanboys that make me angry. They're just... so..... I am pretty sure none of them even know who Ebert is. They're just basing him on this one opinion he has.

Ehhh, the point is that it's all a matter of opinion. No one ever really seems to get that.
I also think I am the only one that realizes that videogames should be more entertaining than artistic.

Its not that, its just that with the Final Fantasy series, in many cases the artwork is beautiful, the soundtracks are superb, and the story is like that of a bestselling novel. Showing pictures of the artwork is just the easiest way to express that on a forum.
Visual, musical, and literary art all in one.
Nobody can say that video games are not art
