Just woke up.

WOAH like an extra 8 pages all of a sudden?
The United Kingdom of Rysdale is a fledgling, socially progressive nation, renowned for its burgeoning carlton population. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 6 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 38%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small but healthy private sector is led by the Furniture Restoration industry, followed by Basket Weaving and Information Technology.

Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Rysdale's national animal is the carlton, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the rys.

Rysdale is ranked 2nd in the region and 8,951st in the world for Most Income Equality.

Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.

Apparently war only exists as role-playing on their forums.
Also whoever made the region may want to password protect it to keep the "undesirables" out.

Mhm, there was this other nation game like this that allowed actual war (i.e. you could buy soldiers and tanks and stuff) but I can't remember the name of it. :/ It does seem not that good if the war is only roleplaying, I can imagine a lot of 'suddenly the battle turned in _______ side, because...'

I'll setup a password if necessary, but I think we're fine for now,

If you want to be in the WA and eventually get the chance to be in charge, apply, and if you have applied, wait a while and then check your e-mail. Once you click the link in your e-mail you should be in.

I think I'm going to be going for a "hippy police state" sort of thing where there are no political freedoms and superb civil freedoms

The Rogue Nation of Frightening Utensils is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 5 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

The small, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Social Welfare, and Defence. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5%. A substantial private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Trout Farming, and Retail industries.

Crime is a problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Frightening Utensils's national animal is the wild spotted spatula, and its currency is the ladle.

My Civil Rigts dropped down to "Good".

Because I awarded prizes for stereotype-breaking minorities on T.V. shows.

...What.

And now I begin the corruption of the WA from INSIDE IT >:D

Also, update:
The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Book Publishing industries.

Every citizen must submit to DNA testing to be eliminated from police inquiries, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, otherwise healthy people are being sent to internment camps because they have VODAIS, and "The Daily Sacrifice" is a routine segment of morning news shows. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kalekemo's national animal is the Werewolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Credit.

Kalekemo is ranked 16th in the region and 38,997th in the world for Most Income Equality.

I'm suspecting it has to do with the balance issues involved in anything with race.

Simple example being Affirmative Action. Which is notorious for having whites fail to gain employment over less qualified minorities.

That's not a good thing. Ideally, when it comes to a job, the most qualified candidate should get the job, regardless of skin color. If all the most qualified candidates happen to be white (or likewise, happen to be black), then those people should get the job positions. A company should not be forced by the government to take a less qualified black employee over a more qualified white employee.

Affirmative Action is a highly racist concept for that reason.
I'm not soulless. I have plenty of souls. They're just not mine.

And now I'm leaning towards a euthanesia bill.

But hey, there's no changing my decision. Eeny-meeny-miney-mo can never be overturned.

My First Issue!
  • 1. "Compulsory voting makes about as much as sense as having the death penalty for attempted suicide," says civil rights activist Randy Spirit. "You can't force people to be free! You can only give them the choice. Besides, if all those derelicts who can't be bothered to get off their butts once every few years voted, who would they elect? I shudder to think."

    2. "It's not contradictory at all," argues political commentator George W. Jefferson. "The fact is, if not everyone votes, the outcome isn't truly representative. Some groups--like elderly gun nuts--vote more often than others. That's why we always end up with such terrible politicians."

    3. "This raises an interesting issue," says Buffy Barry, your brother. "And that is: why do we need elections, anyway? Seems to me it would be much simpler if you just decided what was right, and did it. Wouldn't that save everyone a lot of time?"
The voices in my head say to go with number 3, and so I shall!
