AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Ok so, here's what happened, I had really crappy friends . . . found myself some new friends . . . new friends are great . . . unfortunatley the are all complete and total GAMERS. I mean, i'm not saying that i've never even picked up a video game, it just so happens they are just like 6 years ahead of me.
So here's what I need, HELP, anything you can tell me, be it MUST HAVE video games, to the counsles that I need (as of now I have :PS2, Wii and DS, but i know that is not enough) to just tips on understanding WHAT my friends are talking about.
Yes I know I am a loser, but i am desperate and I can handle the sarcastic comments . . . being the most sarcastic in my school, after all.
Basically I will never make it through the rest of high school without this information. Please Please help.
PS: the best video game I have is Legende of Zelda, Twilight Princess maybe that will tell you how far along I am, and I am up on gaming terms . . . research, you know.

idk, I only have a Wii and DS and I do just fine. Get Mario Galaxy and Super Smash bros. Brawl, then get really good at Brawl.

X-Box is cool too. Try Left4Dead + some sort of RPG game to get you started.
