They're also largely the same as the opinions of Destructoid, Screwattack, IGN, Gamespot......sometimes the public can be right.
If you can think of a better list of winners I'd like to hear it.

What'd they have as the GOTY?

None.
They did the 200 best games of all time.
#1 was Legend of Zelda
Of course.

Err... sorry, but I think it's pretty undisputable that the first Legend Of Zelda completely and utterly sucked by modern standards.

Modern standards do not make a game...
I can still play that game and have a blast...
That being said, it most certainly isn't the #1 game

Yeah, I mean it's one think if they didn't win, that doesn't bother me. What does, though, is that they were practically ignored!
Also, yeah, I know OTHER gaming companies have been in the business longer, but I was mostly referring to how Nintendo has their own console and makes their own games, yet they still got snubbed.
Indigo_Dingo wrote:There were also no PC games, whats your point? They may have had some games, but they weren't the best. As this was the ceremony for the best of the best of the best, none of the games made the cut.
Yeah, I knew that, but I'm not much of a PC gamer, so sorry for not being as bothered by that as I was about Nintendo, whom I've played games since I was 8.
And "best of the best of the best" my booty. Isn't it a little odd that
Uncharted 2 won Game of the Year, but didn't win in its own category, action-adventure? These things are so obviously rigged.

Yes, it is. Shaddup

They based a lot of the top games not just on play time and their mechanics.
They based a lot of those top games on their impact and what they did as well as what kind of game they were.

I never pay attention to VGA shows. Every one of them is either an FPS obsessed testosterone-fest or an Indie-game (plus Nintendo) fap session.

It was Ocarina of Time that they listed as #1.

Man I hated the original LoZ. I at least need some direction when I'm playing a game. The real reason Nintendo didn't get anything is because Spirit Tracks was released too late to be properly considered. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, on the other hand, there is no excuse.

It was a nominee for best RPG and Handheld, and lost on both to Dragon Age and Chinatown Wars. I don't think anyone can disagree with those.
Also, what's everyones problem with Nintendo not being there? They had their own daisies list. Best Wii game. And they didn't really deserve to be anywhere else. If Madworld appeared in Best Action/Adventure game, I'd be saying what the fuck.

Nearly all games made before 2000 suck by todays standards.
And Ocarina of Time is not the #1 game of all time. Thats Shadow Of The Colossus. I wish people would stop fapping over Ocarina of time, Majoras Mask was way better.
