I enter Xedilian. It is run down, poorly lit, and kind of smells terrible.
BUT AT LEAST THERE'S NO MONSTE-

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

"Madness" grieves? Huh. Maybe there's another smith in New Sheoth that makes Madness Armor rather than Amber. It's probably heavy and looks stupid, and isn't worth getting. I'm guessing.

One of the many (and I mean many) Grummites in this cave seems to be holding a crystal staff. Which he shoots lightning out of.
IT STINGS QUITE A GREAT DEAL.

Well, at least the staff is valuable!
Unfortunately, as soon as I take the staff, I involuntarily dismantle it and take the focus crystal it was made of. I have no idea why I did it, but there seemed to be nothing I could do to stop myself.

Well, anyway, since I subconsciously took the staff apart, I may as well place the crystal in the alter it is supposed to go, which is, conveniently, right next to the Grummite I killed and took it from.

Ooooooh, pretty

Some Grummites seem to be worshiping that fire. For some reason. What a bunch of crazy weirdos.

They soon end up the way all crazy weirdos should.

ANOTHER grieves matrix? Look if you going to give me matices for armor that looks dumb and makes it hard to move (at least, I'm guessing it does), you may as well give me a bit of variety!

Man, those stupid smiley-face switches are everywhere. I have no idea why they put them there when all they do is open the door right next to them. It kind of destroys the point of having a swi-

Oh god that switch did no open a nearby door it opened something completely different entirely and now I am falling which is not an experience I enjoy not one bit

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Oh, hey, I managed to land perfectly safe! How convenient!
Looks like that dead Grummite right there didn't have the same kind of luck, though.

Another staff-wielder! I won't dismantle that staff this time!

DAMMIT WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THIS STRANGE STAFF DISMANTLING REFLEX I HAVE ALL OF A SUDDEN

It is not long before I come across yet another staff wielder.

Once again, I dismantle the staff for reasons I don't understand. At least all three focus crystals are in place. I suppose that makes a good consolation prize.
I still need to activate some sort of "resonator" or whatever.

Oh crap
Three Grummites at once.
And these are not small Grummites
These are big tough Grummites.

Luckily, I manage to disarm the big one with a lucky side-power attack, and he sucks at unarmed combat.

It is a tough fight, but soon all three of my (very large) foes lay dead.
Well, at least that's probably the last fight before the end of these vile dungeon!

Oh god why do I always have to be so wrong all the time this is not fun not fun at all

I have never seen so many dead Grummites in one place. I'd imagine it would be a very scarring experience for an unsuspecting Grummite to walk in on this gruesome pile of corpses.
"Oh hey guys, I'm back from my short trip outsi- oh god what has happened here all of my friends are dead"

An arrow matrix? Well, I suppose it's variety, at least. Still, I never use weapons, so arrows are kind of useless for me. Maybe I can make them anyway and then sell them, or something.

There is still one more foe I have to kill, though. This one has a staff, but a normal one! Apparently, my involuntary staff-dismantling reflex only applies to crystal staffs, because I can take his fine.

Also, it's corpse stays standing up after I kill it.
That is really badass. So badass, in fact, that it probably cures the scarring from that unsuspecting Grummite earlier.
"Oh god the corpses they are everywhere everyone I have ever known has been kil- holy crap that guy died standing up that is so badass that I feel completely better! It's a miracle!"
Or something along those lines.

He doesn't stay standing up, though. I guess that poor unsuspecting hypothetical Grummite will have to remain hypothetically scarred for the rest of his hypothetical life.
Hypothetically.

This must be that resonator thingy the magic butler told me about. l guess I should activate it.

Ooooooh, pretty!
...So, uh...
...Now what?
