Well, now that I am done with this minor distraction, I'd better get to Anvil! I know that Martin want to go to Weynon Priory, but screw him, he can handle a little detour. Plus, I think he makes kind of a good sidekick.

I still have to murder that repair-overcharging jerk, though. What, did you think I'd forget?

ENRAGE-SPELL-GROPE!

No one cares as I kill her in "self-defense", even though I clearly just used an enrage spell on her!
I love the stupidity of people in this game so much!

You can't tell from the picture, but that mountain lion had just dealt a finishing blow on Martin that sent him flying behind that rock to the right there! It was hilarious!

We spend the night at this inn and continue traveling during the day.

Martin doesn't seem to be bothered by the fact we are going in the exact opposite direction of Weynon Priory. Maybe he just likes going on adventures with me.

We encounter an ogre. We immediately engage in fisticuffs.

Despite the fact I clearly had the situation under control, Martin and a nearby guard decided to help me kill the ogre. I kind of feel bad for it. It probably just wanted to have a fun little fight to test it's strength. It probably never even realized the fight would be to the death.
Or maybe it is just an insane monster bent on murdering everything it its path. It's hard to tell the two apart, sometimes.

We finally reach Anvil. It is a very nice looking city!

This is only going to be a short stop, though. I just need to sell all the stuff I found in Kvatch, and then I need to head to those ruins the Grey Prince wanted me to check out. I'll head back to Anvil afterwards, though.

On the way, I find another strange alter. I can't help but feel I am accidentally completing some sort of "pilgrimage" or something.

What the hell is that thing? It looks like some sort of skeleon wizard. Like skeletor, or whatever that one guy from He-Man is called.

I am able to accomplish what He-Man was never able to. Not that that says much, though.

Martin and I step into the ruins. What horrors await us in this sinister place?

Oh no! It's a... wolf? For some reason, all the enemies in these ruins seem to be creatures I was killing back when I was level 1-3, like rats and wolves. They take me a whole one to three punches to kill!

I head deep into the ruins, through a door that requires the key the Grey Prince gave me. I encounter what appears to be a vampire. He also appears to have the same name as the Grey Prince's supposed father.
How interesting.

He dies really easily, though.

Wow, it looks like he was actually living quite comfortably here! I wouldn't mind living in a place like this!

I find an exposition-errific journal. To summarize, the vampire guy fell in love with his orc maid and gets her pregnant. When he finally decides to tell her that he was a vampire, she locks him in this room and leaves him to rot, causing him to go insane.
She seems like kind of a booty.

I take a short nap in his bed and level up! Level 20 already!? This LP has only just started! Why the hell does Charlie level up so fast?

Although I have what I need for the Grey Prince, I notice a different, optional passage deeper into the ruins. It is filled with vampires.

Some of them even have some pretty nice stuff, including some gloves that are enchanted to have a strength bonus of nine (my current ones have a bonus of eight) and some elven grieves!

I actually don't look all that different.

Oh dear that is not a vampire that is not a vampire at all.
Wait, how is that thing able to hold a sword? All of my physical attacks just go right through it! What, is it allowed to touch physical objects when it wants to or something? That's not fair at all!

Luckily, I have a solution. 20,000 volts of solution, to be exact.

As we leave the ruins, we are attacked by some skeletons.

Martin makes a pretty good distraction, so I decide to just run off and leave him for dead rather than fight. He'll just reappear next to me when I enter the city, anyway.

We stay at an inn until morning. There isn't much to say other than that.

I stop at the mage's guild and buy some magic spells and alchemy ingrediants. It turns out that lettuce has a restore luck effect! I am able to make another luck restore potion that raises my luck to 31. I am not rid of this curse yet, but I'm getting there.

I head to a nearby farm to see if I can find any lettuce. I can't find any, so I as the woman working if she has any I can buy or something.

O...kay...
Look, I just want to buy some lettuce, so-

His name was Bjalfi the contemptible!? I think that should have been warning enough not to marry him!

This converstion is not about lettuce.
This conversation should be about lettuce.
Why isn't this conversation about lettuce!?

Wait, you want me to kill your husband because he stole a mace from you?
...Well, yeah, I guess I can do that. I am a member of the Dark Brotherhood, after all. Just make sure you pay well when I'm done.
Or else.

Luckily, the ruins where her former husband and the mauraders he ran off with are hiding is like right next to Anvil. Martin and I encounter a bandit, which we easily kill. As I try to take her semi-valuable weapon, I realize that I forgot to sell all the extra stuff I found in the last ruins I visited. Luckily, Anvil is really close, so it isn't that big a deal.

Also, I find some more nirnroot. I only need one more of it for the potion or whatever!

I head into the city and sell my stuff. As I am leaving, I walk by some old loon ranting about gods and prophecies. I briefly consider telling him to shut up, but decide it isn't worth the effort. He's probably just some insane guy, anyway.

WE head back to the ruins. It is, predicably, filled with marauders. It is also filled iwth terrible traps. Like this log-swing-thing, which would be okay if it weren't for the fact it doesn't even reach me.

Martin had, for some reason, decided to run off into a cave-ish part of the ruins. He appears to have been fighting a rat.

Oh, wait, no, he was just fighting a marauder. Good for him! The more of these guys dead, the more I can loot off their bodies!

Oh, what's this? A sleeping man?

STEALTH KILL! Haha, I love how the body goes flying after a good sneak attack!

I am attacked by both a warlord and Bjalfi at the same time.
THEY ARE BOTH WEARING DEADRIC ARMOR.

Holy crap this is awesome deadric armor is like the best armor in the game yes yes yes.
I have to drop a crapload of my stuff to be able to carry a full set of the stuff (minus the helmet, which neither of them had), but it is SO WORTH IT!
Oh, yeah, and I also find that rockshatter thing, but still, DEADRIC ARMOR!

Unfotunately, I need the strength bonus of the Kvatch cuiress to be able to carry it all for now. I can't wait to sell some stuff and then try it on!
I head over to that woman's house to give her the super-valuable mace.

Greed took HIS heart? Your the one that made me kill a bunch of people over some family heirloom!

Hmmm. That's it? I did warn you that if I was not satisfied, there would be...
...consequences.

Anyway, I go into Anvil and sell some stuff until I am able to carry the deadric armor without the help of the Kvatch cuiress and still have space to spare.
I look awesome! Seriously, it looks like this armor could kill someone if I bumped into them! Of course, I move REALLY slowly in it, but the sacrifice is worth it!

Before I head back to the Imperial city, there is still something I must do. I head back to that woman's farm, and tell Martin to wait a good distance away. I wouldn't want any... witnesses.

BAM! Take that! What, did you ACTUALLY think I was going to let her get away with taking a mace worth over 2000 gold from me in exchange for a small dowry? She kind of deserved to die anyway. She seemed like kind of a jerk.

I sell the mace I stole off her dead body and leave Anvil. It is time to head back to the Imperial City. I know I am supposed to take Martin to Weynon Priory, but he's really grown on me. I think he should be my sidekick forever, don't you agree?
