Honestly, I think a Mother 3 Let's Play is a pretty bad idea. The writing and story is REALLY good, so it isn't like you can make fun of it. You have no freedom in the way you arrange your team, so you can't focus on that. The game is also really linear. And, most importantly, it would ruin the game for any who haven't played it, considering the story and all its twists and turns are the best and most enjoyable aspects of the game.electronic goat wrote:So...can I start my Mother 3 Let's Play now?
You can do it if you really want to, though, I just don't think it will work out very well.
It's time to jog ALL the way to Kvatch. I wish I wasn't too cheap to buy a horse, or too much of a booty to not murder the lady selling the horses.
I stumble across a bandit camp and a few bandits. As usual, they attack on sight.
I get a rank up in light armor! Huzzuh!
One of the bandits has some really interesting armor on him. Hmm...
I am now a bit encumbered by all the loot I stole of the dead bandits, so I head back to Skingrad to sell everything.
I also decide to change my armor setup.
As you can see, I have decided to switch over to light armor. It frees up more space in my inventory, I can move faster, and it looks cooler. The only piece of heavy armor I have on are those gloves, but that's because they fortify my strength by 8.
It's time to REALLY begin my jog to Kvatch! You can't tell because this is only a picture, but with light armor I move much faster! I'll be at Kvatch in no time!
It's the middle of the night, so I decide to rest until day at a nearby bandit camp until day. Hopefully, the roads will be safer that way.
I am, unfortunately, once again attacked by a spriggon. It is momentarily distracted by a nearby bandit, but the bandit dies fairly quickly and the spriggon goes after me. Great.
Another bandit comes along, but rather than fight with the Spriggon, she goes after me as well. Great.
I decide to use Moonshadow. The two look for me for a moment, and then begin to fight to the death.
The spriggon wins, and leaves itself wide open for a sneak attack.
Why can't these trips down the road ever just be simple?
I am attacked by a giant bear. I run away while shooting lightning at it.
Before I finish fighting the bear, I come across a bandit and... holy shit, is that a minotaur? HOW ON EARTH DOES ANYONE MANAGE TO MAKE IT FROM TOWN TO TOWN WITH THESE KINDS OF CREATURES?
AND SO THE CHASE BEGINS!
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is the bandit's been killed!
The bad news is he was killed by a bear which is now chasing me along with the other bear and the minotaur.
WHY DOES THE WORLD HATE ME SO MUCH!?
I run as fast as I can to Kvatch. I discover that a fairly large amount of citizens are outside the city in tents, for some reason. I guess the bears got lost or something, so now I just have to deal with the minotaur.
I can deal with that.
Haha! Not so tough when you don't have your stupid bears, eh? Take that, you bastard! Turns out minotaurs aren't so tough after all! That was even easier to kill than a bear!
I talk to a few of the citizens. I begin to get the impression something happened here.
You see, this is the problem with all the citizens I ask. They tell me that "Oh Kvatch, this is a bad time to be here", but they don't elaborate on why it is a bad time!
I decide to ask her about Martin, the heir.
"Made it out of the city?" Care to elaborate on WHY you had to escape from the city in the first place? Was it bandits? An enemy army? A barrage of giant lawyers made of jelly raining down from the heavens and then exploding when they make contact with the ground? Give me something here!
I get fed up with the citizens and start heading up the hill to the real Kvatch. I come across a monk. Oh, good, he'll tell me what happened! And, since he's a monk, he probably knows where Martin is, too!
O...kay... We are up to a rough, vagueish sort of start here, but I'm sure he'll elaborate!
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll tell me what happened and stop being pointlessly vague soon enough!
...Okay, I'm beginning to lose hope in this guy now.
What? The prince of hell? I'm sure he probably means that in a metaphorical sort of way, as in that the enemy army or exploding lawyers are as bad as the forces of hell.
Wait, his friends are all dead? CRAP. That probably means the rest of the monks are dead. My only hope is that Martin was kind of a jerk or something and wasn't this guy's friend.
Anyway, since clearly no one is going to give me any answers, I head up the rest of the hill to get to Kvatch.
The sky starts looking kind of funny as I approach. That's an... odd... sunset...
Especially so because it is the middle of the day.
Holy shit. That monk was being completely literal about the forces of hell.
Wow.
Some strange creatures come out of that glowing orange thingy. I kill a few of them, and then talk to who appears to be the captain of the surviving guards. I ask him what happened.
Yes, I can clearly see that! Give me REAL answers!
I was about to say "overwhelmed by what!?" but, considering the gate to hell right over there, I think it is now pretty daisies obvious.
Hopefully, Martin is not one of those run down in the streets. I bet Jauffre is going to pay well for this, so if Martin is dead, my cheddar is dead!
... Couldn't you just... you know... walk around it?
You could just make the citizens retreat to the safety of another city. Instead of, you know, making them wait 500 yards or so away from a gate from which the forces of hell can escape.
I ask him about Martin.
"Leading", eh? I bet there going to say some shit like, "Oh, he is a natural leader because he has the blood of the emperor". Sigh.
I decide to go ahead and offer to help. I have nothing better to do today, anyway.
That's okay, I'm used to doing things that will "likely mean my death".
Wait wait wait... You are going to send me into the gates of hell itself!?
...Uh...
Actually, I'm not sure if...
...Oh well... I suppose I've made it through worse.
...Right?
