I think Sonic needed to be in there, more so than Snake.

Sonic and Snake both had importance to Nintendo in some way, though; Sonic, aside from starting on Sega and not having games on a Nintendo console til the Gamecube era, is Mario's rival. Snake got his start on the NES...and his owner begged for him to be in the game. Which may have affected things slightly.

Nah, it was mostly popular demand that got characters in. Though they still DO have to have a tie to Nintendo...there are people who want Master Chief in. Or more Sonic characters. It's depressing.

I reckon that Quote from Cave Story would be great since they have a Cave Story 3D game coming out soon! Barlog could be an assist trophy as well as Curly Brace (or another character?). HUZZAH!

Leave Curly for the Final Smash or something. You know, Curly appears outta nowhere, and teams up with you like in teh Sacred Grounds.

Iron Bond? If Curly was in the final smash, she would be knocked out for no reason and ditch you to do the whole battle yourself! That's what she does in Cave Story against bosses!

Quote could easily be a lighter, smaller version of Snake but with a few more guns and less explosives.

I think Knuckles should have been there instead of Sonic. I mean come on, it makes a bit more sense, to me at least. But I guess you could say Raiden should be there instead of Snake for the very same reason.

THey seem more fit for a fighting game, which I think is why in MvC they had Zero instead of Megaman.

Super Smash Bros. isn't an arcade style fighter. It's a platformer/fighter hybrid. Basically, if you can get them to platform, they can work in Smash Bros. And when it comes to introduction of franchises, it's best to use the main character of that franchise.

Now once the main characters are in? Then you can go crazy with secondary characters. Except I'm not sure how many MGS fans would really like Raiden in...

I would prefer Knuckles too, because he's more of a fighter and he's my favorite character, but it makes sense to have the mascot in...

I don't understand Raiden at all though. Snake has far more importance and has shown more fighting prowess and badassery...why Raiden?

The only other Sonic character who needs to be in the next one other than Sonic himself is Tails. This is bodaciously the only thing that should scientifically happen.
