Super Smash Bros.: The one with Ridley in it
Re: Super Smash Bros
Well, yeah, either do the achievements or play a certain amount of Melee matches. But I think you'd hit 20 hours before 700 matches, wouldn't you?

Re: Super Smash Bros
I'm pretty sure I unlocked most, if not all characters by playing matches in Melee. Definetely G&W, so I played at least 1000 matches.

That's not hard. That's just time consuming.Nap1000 wrote:Well, Brawl also made it too easy to unlock all the characters. (Just beat the story mode and BAM YOU BEAT THE GAME) I didn't unlock all of Melee's characters until AFTER Brawl came out. (You have to play TWENTY HOURS of Melees to unlock Mewtwo. Took a while to get the "leave game on overnight" trick under the radar of my parents.)
Also if you had four human players you only needed to play 5 hours... So just leave it turned on with 4 controllers in. Bam.

Re: Super Smash Bros
There were also te characters you unlocked through event matches. (Ganondorf, Pichu if you didn't unlock him through Mewtwo) Now THOSE were a challenge.
Especially considering you had to KO Ganondorf THREE TIMES to unlock him. As adult Link. With only one life.

Re: Super Smash Bros
I like the Brawl story mode so unlocking the characters was an added bonus.

Cause if theres one thing you want to do in a fighting game, its keep the most powerful characters restricted for no reason.Nap1000 wrote:Well, Brawl also made it too easy to unlock all the characters. Re: Super Smash Bros
Marth has a bad up-special but makes up for it with his awesome smash attacks and down-special!

Re: Super Smash Bros
People get mad at me when I use Ike but I say they don't know how to dodge/air dodge so of course they're gonna lose.

Re: Super Smash Bros
If anyone thinks Ike is overpowered, they're kidding themselves.
That's why my mains are usually the fast people. Toon Link in particular.

Exactly Ike is so slow and has no combos. People don't know anything about the gameplay mechanics if they think Ike is OP.

Re: Super Smash Bros
Ike is a solid mid-tier character, but won't be rising anywhere beyond that.
Meta Knight is painfully obviously the best character in brawl. In fact, we decided to ban him at least for a while at out small-time Finnish tournaments. We're also adjusting the ruleset to account for his absence, as some banned stages become viable for tourney play and things like ledge grab limit become pointless. I think it'll be interesting to see how the game changes when you no longer have to worry about running into an MK.

I would use Meta Knight all the time if I winning was all I cared about.
It can take a while to build your opponent's damage with MK though - if you can't get your HACKSLASHHACKSLASH grove on.
