Super Smash Bros.: The one with Ridley in it
Re: Super Smash Bros
When playing with friends we all know what happens if someone gets the fan. They tell us to "C'mere" and the rest of us NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE all over the map.
Stuff goes here later.
Re: Super Smash Bros
You know, usually those who know how to play the game well also know how to use items well. If it's as you said and you tend to beat them in item matches while they beat you in "competitive" matches, then I'd say neither you nor them have explored the game for all it has to offer and you both are just creating said "bubbles" with conditions in which you can win. Try to be more open-minded, even if it seems like they're forcing their opinion on you. Try. Get them to do the same for you. You can play both ways, and neither is really less fun in my opinion at least. It's just, in a tournament environment where skill is promoted and chance is minimized, limiting rules are needed.DoNotDelete wrote:All of my hate.Xylitol wrote:...I'm all for playing item matches as fun friendlies, but I don't really see them as an effective way to gauge a player's skill level...
The contents of these parentheses is the only thing that redeems you.Xylitol wrote:...(though I do realize it also takes skill to use items to their fullest).

Re: Super Smash Bros
Added a few people, trying to join the match [CN] is apparently in.
Edit: Actually nevermind I don't think I have enough time.

Re: Super Smash Bros
I usually keep items on low, but I always turn Dragoon off. I hate how the matches become so centered around the involvement of those daisies fragments. Although I certainly am not opposed to all items off, because I really love a good one-on-one, pure skill match.
please stop that right now

Re: Super Smash Bros
I can generally compete in non-item matches, but my list of usable characters drops significantly in those instances; I can only really get away with it using Meta Knight and Lucario (I think I was even pretty good with Marth at one point).Xylitol wrote:You know, usually those who know how to play the game well also know how to use items well. I've found that people who stick to non-item battles almost exclusively rarely main more than a few characters anyway (haha, Ike mainers who insist on non-item battles) - but it's still restrictive to the point of being infuriating.
Re: Super Smash Bros
Well, I guess it was a bit incorrect when I said I play only as Lucas, as that only happens in a tournament. In friendly matches my characters range from Ness to Ike to Pkmn Trainer to Mario to Kirby to Captain Falcon to Ganondorf to Fox (none of these characters are considered very good but this is purely coincidental, I just find these characters both fun to play and at least somewhat effective in my hands). I play Lucas because I want to see how I fare in tournaments with him and I want to see what it's like to play him at a comp. level. Also, what's all this about Ike?

Thanks for the matches guys, they were a lot of fun. And now I know the bane of my existence when using Ness and Lucas. FUCKING ICE CLIMBERS!

Diddy is much fun. But yeah, I turned on my game and saw people were online, so I joined in.
And man, I'm sucking right now.

Re: Super Smash Bros
I only started focusing on one character when one of my friends who I played the most with, flat out refused to fight with another character as Snake. Not even to try one out.
Of course, he became incredibly good with Snake and kept kicking my booty, so I specialised in characters as well. It did make me a better player, but I still have a deep-seated hate against Snake to this day.

My hatred for Zelda has no compare.
That bitch and her remote-detonating fireballs - and the rest of her moves.
Goddamn.

Beat everyone as Jigglypuff. Erryday. I love how evasive I can be with her.
CN never saw it coming as I steamrolled him off the stage.
