If Katie makes the brawl cast into her own characters and makes them do things completely unrelated to the games they are originally in or Brawl I will be extremely agitated.
EG: Marth adopts a duck and it keeps biting him

Yeah, because she hasn't already had them living in some kind of apartment building together, chilling on the couch, and writing poetry.
I guess I just never unlocked that part of the game.

That's different because she
extended the smash bros games and made up some kind of lobby for the characters to be in while they're not fighting for her comedy
Ducks are entirely unrelated to Brawl

And they also watch soap operas together, it would seem.
It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination in this strange world where they all live togethere and do strange things they wouldn't normally do for some kind of pet to become involved. Regardless of if it was a duck.
If you wanted to make it related, make it a koopa or something.

Its not a pet or anything. Its a one shot visual gag, that may become a brick joke. Its not like the ducks gonna be recurring.
Like Samus sitting on the ledges and crowing, or pretty much everything she's made Marth do or act like.
