How democratic.
On IQ: I think I have better than average engineering and logic skills, but I also think I have a stronger sense of what is right and wrong than most people.
I don't think I've ever seen an IQ test geared to measure an individual's sense of right or wrong - perhaps something like that is too subjective to measure accurately?
There's also the issue of just how grey the subject of "right and wrong" is. You say you have a better idea of what's morally right, but I guarantee there's someone out here willing to call you an asshole for no less than 50% of your values. I know you said "most", but even that's up for debate. After all, EVERYONE thinks that their sense of morality is the right one. Internal justification makes sure of it.
(Great example: tumblr. And then the two discussions collide like two sexually frustrated teenagers)

It makes a hell of a lot more sense than a single score determining the complexity of your intelligence/personality.
EDIT: One more thing. Your bit about the guy with 3 degrees in physics reminded me of something. Intellectually, my roommate is the smartest fucker I know. You give him a textbook, and a couple hours, and he'll understand all of chemistry (all of it). When it comes to social bits, and dealing with his girlfriend...he's a rock. Another guy I know has a 2.9 GPA, yet he's completely self taught on the subject of............herbology......
They're known as idiot savants. They're some of the brightest in their field(s), but outside of it they are way below average.

Estimates say there are less than 100 "true" living savants in the world at any given time, and they are often
severely mentally retarded outside of one or two highly specific skills. People tend to label someone who is just very specialized and gifted in just one or two fields as savants, or assign the label to any person with autism who's pretty good at a thing, and a bunch of other stuff. Like oh this guy sucks at meeting girls but he build the entirety of Stormwind out of cardboard, he must be a savant; this kid has autism but he can do algebra in his head, he must be a savant.

I'm more convinced that our brains are just geared towards different subject, where we're good at certain things and just. Horrible at others. For example, that same guy I said could learn all of chemistry in one sitting? He's absolutely horrible at biology. Biology is my shit, but I absolutely hate history. My dad will make a point of exiting the discussion when my mom and I start going over health stuff, but he will just ramble on about history/the military.
Long story short: all of this IQ business is just a bunch of crock.

What the fuck?! Seriously! People seriously have this horrible a tendency for hygiene? Seriously? I feel weird going more than one day without a shower.

I tend to term savant as someone who has both talent and skill without working too hard at either, being naturally disposed to that skill. If they're way above that, as in things like a ten year old graduating university magna cum laude with a PhD and a paper disproving Stephen Hawking then I term them prodigies.

Speaking of Exes, this is what my ex-girlfriend (if I can call her that) had to say on tumblr today:
ex wrote:ex wrote:I’m sorry but…
Who the hell cares?
There’s nothing “rude” about this? I don’t see what your problem is, it seems like you’re getting mad about absolutely nothing. It’s bodaciously just a list of the correct terminology!
Also, someone doesn’t have to intentionally be offensive to be offensive!
I didn’t say there was anything rude about the chart, at all. The point I was trying to get across is that it’s kind of stupid that people get offended simply by putting an “ED” at the end of something, especially if a lot of people are unaware of the correct terminology.
and since quotes won't go that deep, here's the last bits:
ex wrote:But why even go off on a rant on something that has nothing to do with what you’re talking about? It feels like you just sort of wanted an excuse to talk about something tangentially related!
Beyond that I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone get really mad about someone using “transgendered” or whatever. Someone calling you out for using a slur is entirely different!
o_o I never look for “excuses” to talk about something. Things come to mind, I post it, it’s my blog, I do what I want. *z snap* and you don’t have to read it if you don’t want to? I’m not trying to be rude, but I DO have the right to post on something, likely most people won’t even see this anyway so what does it matter.
And yes a slur is different, like using the N word as apposed to saying african american and black, which is something almost everyone KNOWS it’s offensive, but what if it’s a term someone doesn’t know is offensive, and the person OBVIOUSLY didn’t know/wasnt using it in a rude context? there’s no point in being mean to someone…as it so happened, a lot of people I know didn’t know the slur I used was offensive, so it was uncommon for people to know.
Bottom line, I have my opinion, you have yours. I’m simply explaining how I feel about it…
Just, stop while you're behind. Any time you pull out the "I HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS MY OPINION" you're doing it wrong.
Like the time you decided to bitch about suicide being selfish and the "coward's way into hell" right when our friend admitted she attempted suicide. But that's okay because THIS IS MURICA, HOME OF THE UNWARRANTED OPINIONS WITH NO DRAWBACKS FOR HAVING THEM*.
*This is shit she actually believes.

That article would be slightly more appealing if they bothered to spell the name right, because I don't know of any Chin-Lu.
Also, a lack of power thighs.

I don't want to upset or offend anybody with this - and I do try and get the gender thing right - but things like this really hurt my head too.
How about people don't instantly take offence at somebody using the wrong word and give them the benefit of the doubt that they weren't trying to slander your specific individual dilemma or whatever you want to call it.
Not everybody has the time or patience to nail every god-d
amn word in the English language down to every pedantic nitpicker's satisfaction; People have lives, jobs, families and problems of their own to worry about - maybe try and get some perspective here? Maybe? A little? Please?
Fucking words and labels man; There's no need to get so wound up about using the precise exact word to describe something.
