I didn't want to follow up my last horror show up so quickly, but what the fuck does any of this even mean?

I sometimes wonder what families would even invite such a creature as Feminus without someone who can bodaciously drop her. I can understand tolerance of mental disabilities, but at the same time I understand a behemoth like Feminus would be fucking unstoppable if she went into physical rage mode.

Highlight to read, because I'm sure there are people who really don't need to read this for stress reasons.

People often overlook things in family gatherings for the spirit of the holidays. There could be a number of factors that happen with a situation like this including the fact that the individuals parents/caretakers/etc. came to the gathering so they couldn't leave them behind, they're family/a family friend that's usually well behaved, they're usually on medication to suppress it (in the case of certain diseases), stuff like that.

According to the first post, this probably wasn't the first time the poster had a bad experience with her, but it likely wasn't this extreme. Sometimes these things are preventable, sometimes they aren't. Holidays can be very stressful for all people, and especially anything out of the norm for someone (eating times, people, diet, anything different really) can affect people with severe mental disabilities.

But, despite that, just imagine that these sorts of situations can be very common. When people think of autism, they think of kids throwing tantrums and arm flailing, but in many cases, physical aggression isn't something that the individual grows out of (especially if they don't get professional help). As much damage as a 5, 7, or 10 year old can do (my mom worked special ed in an elementary school and got her back screwed up by a kindergartener who BEAT her with a fire truck toy), imagine what someone in their 20's or 30's could do.

This is why treatment is important to help them manage their emotions and control their actions, because once they reach the point of Feminus, they're a threat to others and themselves, and ultimately, most families can't handle them and have to give them up to professionals to take care of them, often without the family even being a part of their lives anymore to keep them from being stressed out (plus, family members aren't trained to be capable of handling them so they're usually barely allowed around the person).

This is reality for a lot of families. That their loved ones, siblings, children, friends, whoever might eventually be unmanageable, and that there may be nothing they can do to stop it from getting to that point. That they might have to give them up and never be able to talk to them again. It's impossibly hard to do, because for as much as trying to manage these situations hurt, the knowledge that these people are NOT bad people all the time is heartbreaking. These people could be just like you or your loved ones in their best moments.

I just... I'm not even sure I can fully articulate it at this point.

I'm even more wondering how she got there alone? From what he described, that's not a person who can handle living by themselves in the slightest. Maybe there was just a caretaker dropping her there and then left, or she lives nearby. But either way, you can't leave people like this alone.
