Life isn't fair
Luckily I have all the privileges so I don't need to care about the ramblings of all those crazy minorities

I hate it when people say "life isnt fair". No wonder people go nuts when theyre constantly told to just deal with the shitty hand life dealt them.

I used to hate it but now I can see it for the truth it is. Especially after watching the Glenngary speech.

I like to say, "Life is hardly ever fair." But I don't like it when people are dicks about it. On both sides.

Im just letting my bitterness and resentment at the world fester until that inevitable day when I can take no more and release my frustrations in a liquor store or a random bus stop

I think there's a definite line between saying that to someone who doesn't realize they're waiting for the world to give them whatever they want because they have an unconscious perception that life is like our media-- if I'm moderately well behaved and meet any single goal that matters to me, I get the girl I want, I get a job, etc.-- and saying it to absolve yourself of moral or social responsibility. Like people who pull a dick move on purpose and justify it with "life's not fair." Because they forget that we get to decide what fair is in terms of consideration for others and the way we treat people, and that starts with individuals. If no one chooses to be the bigger person and do the right thing, to get out there and make it plain that you don't have to be a rich activist or in church or whatever to just not be an asshole because "everyone does it," then no one else will feel safe enough to try, either. Call me crazy, but you don't have to give up being ambitious and competitive not to be a jerk. You just have to control your own emotions, like an adult, and not go the extra mile to be a jerk.

Whenever I have to say that life isn't fair, I usually have to add that it doesn't mean you need to just suffer through it, but do something about it. Then again, no one really likes being told that either. Seriously, if you think something isn't fair, or you're suffering, do something about it. Do something to change it. Someone telling you "life isn't fair" isn't them saying that you need to just lie down and take it, it's them saying that life doesn't just give you shit.
Though there are the people who say it to justify being dicks. Yeah, you can say life isn't fair to try and walk all over me, but I can say the same thing to justify making it as much a pain in the booty as physically/figuratively possible.

Actually, most of the time when people say that, they DO mean that you should just lie down and take it, because the injustice you're suffering is an institutional or social problem and would take more than a lifetime to correct, if at all possible. It all comes down to wether or not youre willing to give up the social benefits an open act of random rebellion would cost you, which is our only real recourse.

Not when I say it. Usually I say it in situations where it's solvable, but you may not like the answer. Last time I did, it was because someone I knew was failing some class while some other guy was passing it with ease, and that it "wasn't fair." With that, I didn't say "life isn't fair" to say he should just deal with the fact that people are better at certain subjects than him, I said it to say maybe he should study to pass the class and stop wallowing in the success of others.
Is it fair that some people can smoke a dozen packs a day and run a 10 minute 2 mile while I struggle to get 16 minutes on mine? Yeah, it kinda is, but life isn't fair.

I say it in the context of "This world only cares what you can give to it and gives zero shits about you as an individual. Nothing will be handed to you and no one owes you anything. So if you want something, go for it. Announce it to the right people, fight for it, make sure you are noticed, do everything in your power to earn it. Want change? Make it happen. But do not sit back and whine about the system."

The more I think about it, the more convinced I become that my generation of Otherkin are going to rise up as the world’s next diplomats, ambassadors, and leaders.
Think about the amazing power we possess. As a cat, I understand the needs of the feline community more than any other human can. We have the opportunity to be liaisons between the animal kingdom and human society.
We already know that we are not going to be able to continue on this path of unsustainable living. We have to start focusing on our relationship to the environment and the ecosystems of the rest of the earth’s creatures.
Otherkin are the only people who can actively speak on behalf of these populations. We are part of their collective conscious. We are connected to our species the way an artery is to the heart. The only way the world will ever achieve peaceful coexistence, balance, and eco-responsibility is through the guidance of Otherkin.
People may laugh at us now, but what they don’t realize is that we hold the key to the survival of our planet. They need us.
One day they’ll see. One day they will be begging us for our wisdom. Just you wait.

When the Second Coming happens, Jesus will insist that his lines about leading his "herd" were more literal than anyone believed.
