I feel really bad about being that last vote for egoat only to find out he was the PETA guy. Then again, I don't care much for PETA, so....I'm conflicted.
This thing with not having someone die at night...it's kind of confusing. Does town have another protective role that could have saved someone, or did the Mafia just decide to let things stay quiet?

Also I have to say that this mafia theme, with 'vegetarians' versus 'bacon' mafia, is really reminding me of the current fiasco on tumblr between vegans and 'bloodmouths'.

Well, it has to be someone who hasn't said anything in the thread for at least a few hours. We have no idea of knowing when the conspiracy theorist decided to hide, but if the mafia tried to kill them and failed, then they know for sure who it is.
Unless they reveal that they're the conspiracy theorist once they can be active in the thread again, town has no clue.

Just a note, a BLT member interrogating someone or the vigilante roping them would also nullify the night action. If by chance someone interrogated/roped the killer, that would stop the killing for that night too.
That's assuming the mafia even was trying to kill in the first place. They do have the option of doing nothing (for whatever reason).
Just things to consider. The conspiracy theorist isn't the only thing that could stop a killing.
