but whats the point
only the mafia receives the agent's message... so why even bother, the anon messages of a towny is bodaciously of no import to the mafia
and if the spy sends a message to a towny... well that towny KNOWS they're a towny, and since it obviously wont be the town crier talking to them, its gotta be a mafia, so... again, no point. the agent and spy would be both completely ignored by both sides

Except that the mafia knows exactly who to lynch...everyone who's not them. It's the townspeople who have the stress when it comes to who to lynch. I kinda see what you mean with the confusion though. The mafia got the message to lynch Supaaku, and Me while the townies got the message to lynch Supaaku and Oracle. Then again, the mafia could just vote to lynch someone they didn't get the message to lynch, or just vote no lynch and justify it by saying "We're not sure which of the two to lynch, so to be safe it should probably be neither" because, in all honesty, we're not going to be getting into any game changing days until we have a couple gone by already to be able to look back and see if anyone is acting weird. That or the mafia waits to bandwagon on a townie who votes for who the crier said to lynch, making sure it's not a mafia member being lynched. It certainly would eliminate that threat of mafias going in for the kill and the town bandwagoning on that (though to be honest that can easily be fixed by the town not being populated by a bunch of lazy bandwagoners).
You know what, what the hell. That side of me who loves trial and error finally woke up. Why don't we keep the agent AND add the jailer?

The Spy sends an anon message to all member of a role. So all townies would get the message not just the one. When most people get two messages for who to go for, which one will they choose? It also helps the Mafia narrow out the town's power roles, being as they'd be the only ones who only received one message.
The Agent's message works the same way, but targets the whole Mafia. So the whole of the Mafia get two messages for who to go for, but which do they choose? If they choose wrong, the town will know and jump on them.

All the mafia would have to do is have the spy send an anonymous message to the vanilla town members (of which there'd be a bunch) and then vote for that person. That way they can vote in confidence that more than just the mafia will have received that message. If the spy happens to accuse a townie who receives the message, even better. Unless that person knows how to act when accused, they're actions might just confirm their own fate.
Then again, I'm actually starting to like how that all plans out.

I don't see the importance of the crier to the agent and spy, but the purpose is basically to sow confusion and to gather information. For instance, the Agent could message someone telling them to say a certain word in the thread if they were a certain role.

... so? why would the mafia comply to what the agent says? the agent is town sided. the mafia isnt going to care, and is going to ignore the agent

Like a challenge and password!!
EDIT: That issue can easily be circumvented by giving the crier the ability to send a message to just one role.

Oh, right. Looking over it again, it looks like the importance of the Agent is more communicating with third party roles. I might add more third party, or just remove the Agent entirely.

So all this role switching aside, when does the game actually start?

Pretty much when I get roles sorted out. Still getting feedback about them.

God this is seriously making me wish we could've just done a standard, smurf themed mafia.

I put a vote in that somepartsareme goes with whatever he/she has in his/her mind/gut at the time of him/her reading this comment and we just start the game already. 19 people is a respectable game size.
though seriously, what kind of naughty bits you got down there I have no idea

I'm a dude. Also, I updated the Players list, if I missed anyone let me know. If it's all correct, I'll finalize the roles and start the game.

Let me simulate what the game would be like with the fool.
"I don't want to lynch today, we might hit the fool." "Okay."
DAY END
