Welp got removed from the honors program. I was expecting it but it hasn't been official until just now. I doubt I'll be able to get reinstated either.

Today I found out that I'm on academic probation. I looked up the criteria for being put on academic probation at my school, and I thought I was safe even if I ended up failing my Engineering classes. Apparently I was wrong. I'm so scared right now and I don't know what to do or how to tell my parents. I feel like a complete failure. I don't know when I'll be able to get into the music program now, if I can at all.

Srsly not the end of the world. I was put on academic probation as well while was still at college, and I talked to my counselor and we figured shit out. As long as you go to your parents with a plan, it'll be much better for ya, trust me. They'll wanna help you too, I'm sure.
Mostly scared

I just keep remembering my mom screaming at me when I failed classes and WASN'T on probation. I had to leave the house because she made me so scared and angry.

Yes, well, I might not be qualified to speak about your mother, because I don't live with you, but she's kind of a control freak, so don't assume that every reaction she has is correct (not that you necessarily do, but sometimes self-judgement changes when we're upset). She needs to and will get over it, even if it takes a little while. She will learn that you are a person with strengths and weaknesses, not a golden child character in a book or movie.
And if the music program there is similar to mine, you should still be able to get into the early music classes that aren't reserved for majors. Like, first (and probably second) year theory, music history, lessons and keyboard tech should be open to anyone. You just need to make sure that your GPA is higher next quarter so that you can raise yourself out of the rut. (assuming the probation is what I think it is)

The good thing about probation is that you can still take classes and your real goal is to raise your GPA...which if you plan on switching majors or whatever you have a lot of ENTRY LEVEL classes to take which will arguably be easier to an A or B in. I was on probation for one semester after I had a particularly rough semester (100% not my fault though; I had like 2 AWFUL teachers and parents were well informed of this.) The next semester I signed for my basic animation classes and shot through them and my GPA recovered quickly.
In general though, doing what you actually want to do and enjoy doing will help you make better grades because you actually care.
