D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps
Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps
I will loudly knock on the door and call out "Hey! Is anyone awake in there!?"
haha no

You hear some shuffling upstairs before finally someone opens the viewport on the door, and says "what do you want?"

"Krom Want see monsters!"
Krom always follows his buddy around, so of course he's at the tower too.
(And I doubt when the guy opens a viewport he's going to miss the giant half-orc and see the halfling in front first.)

He couldn't see you behind the fern. And unless you state that you are putting it down or picking something up, all posts will include you as holding it. In fact, he thinks the halfling just said that since he can't see his mouth and doesn't know you're there.
"Get your own monsters." He tries shutting the port but it's stuck.

"Well I never..."
Does the wall look at all climbable, and how high up is the viewport?
and if not...
"Hey Krom, do you think you can give me a lift up there? Or maybe a toss?"

The viewport is on the door. It is sized for people eyes to look out of it, but I don't think many creatures can fit through it. A cat? Nah... Maybe. But that's a real stretch (or squish). There are windows on the second floor, 15 feet up. Glass windows. They haven't been cleaned in a while. The wall might be climbable. I mean, it's made of bricks and all, surely it must be possible. This is why adventurers need ladders, remove the whole matter of climbing out of the equation. But I digress, I don't think you have any ladders... do you?

I think I have one!
Krom goes to retrieve the ladder from the mule and puts the potted plant on the stack while he's at it.

With the help of your ladder, you are easily able to polevault through the window. You take the more stealthy approach of climbing it, however. The window is really dirty, you can't see through it very well, but you can tell the guy who was up here didn't go back up after getting the door, and that there aren't any other people in there either. The window is locked from the inside.

Krom calls out to his friend:
"Remember! Krom good for distraction!"

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps
"Good idea, Krom! Try to keep their attention while I deal with this pesky window!"
And so, when it seems like the coast is clear, I'm going to try to bust through the window with one of my picks.

"Keep it down out there, I already told you health inspector people that this place isn't condemnable! No entrance!" Over your distraction and his own shouting he doesn't here you picking at the window. Eventually you manage to pick a hole large enough to see through. There don't appear to be any monster corpses, much less a chart of whatever information they managed to learn. There's a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a bunch of merch everywhere. The merch is all for outdated popular things. You remember the Captain Cap'n figurines from when you were a child, and how fun they were to throw in the fire place and burst into ludicrous flames. I don't believe they sold them very much after that. There are plenty more things too you've never seen before, their monetary value all unknown to you. You unlock the window and go in. The pungent smell of mildew flows from the walls. There's dust on a lot of the merch, definitely not mint condition.
State where your search checks, if any, will be. There's also the stairs to ground level. This is the top floor. I can't get to your character sheet for some reason, see if you can. Your bonuses don't matter, I jsut want to know what's wrong.

I'm going to ignore this room, as it doesn't look like any monsters have been in here recently, and quickly make my way to the stairs.
Once I get there, I'll slow down a bit and take the time to do some searching.
I'll make sure to take a peek in every room on the way to the ground floor.
OOC: It looks like Mythweavers is down. It'll do that, just wait a while.

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps
First floor down is the ground floor, where you were moments ago before vaulting through the window. No, wait, you just climbed in stealthily. But this is the ground floor. You can see the guard, who obviously isn't a wizard, or if he is, is hardly equipped for the job. What wizard would wear leather armor? That small % chance of spell failure is deadly. He is sitting in his chair watching the fire in the fire place dance. These past two rooms have been rather small. The stairs continue downward. You will need a check as soon as myth-weavers is back up. Until then...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps
I wish to take action on the neckbeard information I managed to gather last night and if possible, find something amusing from them I could use in a joke or something. How much would a wizardly looking robe cost to acquire? I wish to buy one, disguise myself as a wizard, and see if they will let me in.
