I went through, ended "Skype PM", removed the program via add/remove, and modified my Skype settings, and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks a lot for the heads up.

Aha, daisies, this thing showed up and I figured it was just Skype's new game system. Thanks Decker. This saves me precious memory on my terrible laptop.

I don't think we actually established that this thing is harmful.

I thought the thread was leaning toward it being a benign remnant of an old partner company that Skype associated with.

SkypePM.exe showed but Easygobits didn't show on Skype or in my remove programs.

Did it show up in the folders? You could also try completely reinstalling skype.

Yeah.
They screwed up the update.
Their software neither installed or uninstalled correctly, which freaked quite a lot of people out.
Myself included.
The uninstaller on the easybits site is legitimate, but I think a lot of people are going to be very, very angry about this whole ordeal.

Good thing I've had the extras thing unchecked for almost a year now.
