I thought artificial hearts were already in use? Or did I just watch a movie with that and then confused it with reality?

It was invented a while back but only now approved I think.
Stuff takes a while for safety testing because potentially dangerous.

Not necessarily. It could be possible to teleport in a similar fashion as a wormhole, by basically pinching space together at two points.

I doubt you could get enough information out of an object to teleport it without having to tear it apart at the atomic level.

Really, teleportation is moving from one place to another without actually traversing the physical space between them. That makes actual teleportation nigh impossible, even if you're broken up and then sent to a new location, you're still traversing the physical distance.

So we kinda have to dumb down the definition a bit when talking about it.
