Probably the most awful type of clothing.
Ugh yeah

My mom told me to wear a polo for a job interview and I somehow felt less respectable than if I'd been wearing a decent-looking t-shirt. If I'm gonna dress nice, I'm gonna do it right.

I GUESS I'M JUST THE LEAST COOL PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE

my only beef with nice clothes is this (with shitty illustration):

you always look lovely with it untucked but as soon as you tuck it in you morph into someone with no taste (unless it's for a suit or something.)

I like polos and slacks, but I do not like to wear dress shirts, ties, or dress shoes. The reason being that dress shirts are really thin, which means they will be soaked with sweat just from sitting in a chair, this is an inevitability for me. Dress shoes are more from logistics issues than aesthetics; I wear a Size 14 (clown shoes) so finding one is hard enough and I apparently can't wear it around on a regular basis to break them in so they're always tight.

Ties I just loathe. I do not like feeling anything around my neck. Then there's the incident where on one occasion my tie got caught on a nail, I tripped when I turned to look, and it quite bodaciously became a noose for about five seconds before I tore it off the nail. Ever since then I've stuck with clip-ons and will never wear an actual tie. Chopstix decided to be cute and claim the dictionary defined a noose as rope, but here's what Merriam-Webster has to say about it:
Definition of NOOSE

1: a loop with a slipknot that binds closer the more it is drawn
2: something that snares like a noose
Sounds pretty accurate to me. You can wear ties, but I'm not wearing something that has been a literal noose to me in the past.

I feel your pain, I have to wear 14s too, theyre a pain in the booty to find, much less any kind of fancy shoes

I think Great Handsome Oppressor covered quite beautifully that you shouldn't feel much of anything around your neck. A tie is a piece of super light cloth, and you tie it loosely enough for it to be able to slide around a little so if you can really feel it you're doing something wrong already.

Also, a noose has a slip knot. A tie does not.

So no, not technically a noose.

I really like ties, but I find them to be a bit of a cheddar sink since they're at the kinda classier places and the ones at walmart and such suck booty.

Also, I like plaid, but the plaid has to not be like... a pattern or symmetric. Anytime the pattern repeats too often or is noticable, I feel like a cross between a picnic table and Steve Urkel.

These are things that I'd wear.

I always buy out of season, so right now is the perfect time for button up shirts and winter garb (plus last year's jeans and stuff before the school rush). I went shopping today and all of the nice button up shirts were $40 on sale for $20.

I can buy nice jeans for $5 apiece. Or hoodies for $15.

Who would do this?

Also, found a totally fucking baller lightweight jacket that reminded me of the jackets from Attack on Titan. Was in the 70% off bin with an original $40 price tag.

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be in that bin, and while it was nice, it wasn't $40 nice.

sigh.

I don't have much of an occasion to dress up much, so my entire wardrobe consists of t shirts and jeans, with 2 pairs of black dress pants that are part of my work uniform so they smell like fries.

Plus what I wore to prom, but I don't count that because I don't think I'm ever going to get the chance to wear a purple dress shirt again.

I don't like patterns too much, especially not on my nice button-up shirts.

My absolute favorite shirts are all of my western shirts. Snap buttons, shoulder trim, and cuffs are all I need to look fabulous.

Those things plus a bandana, jeans, and cowboy boots, of course.
