It's a strip of fabric tied around your neck with a knot that can be tightened or loosened. It's a noose.

Ties are super sexy okay don't even mock the tie.
A nicely dressed man is basically the greatest thing in the world so if you want to not look fabulously amazing then that's your problem but do not act as if it's everyone's problem.
I will not have people trying to deny me my man candy.

Ties are stupid dumb pointless and it feels like I'm wearing a leash.
Dad stop no I don't want to wear a tie.
Dad no stop please it's choking me.
Dad no please it's tight enough.
Oh the nightmares I've had.

If it feels like you're wearing a leash you're probably tying a really shitty knot.
It's a piece of cloth around your neck. Usually silk, or some knock off there of. There is no reason at all that should be uncomfortable unless you bought a two dollar tie, or you tied it like a retard. Probably your shirt collar is too tight as well; rarely do people get their neck sized properly. You shouldn't even really feel the tie around your neck.
Complaining about ties is up there with wearing sneakers and jeans every day of your life, and bad flannelette shirts. You can wear whatever you want of course, but that doesn't mean you need to want to wear clothes that make you look like your mother still buys them for you.

I havent even worn a shirt with buttons since I lived at home, much less a tie. If I want to wear t shirts and jeans my whole life, thats what I plan to do. Fuck dress clothes anything, its always uncomfortable as fuck

I really don't see how it can be uncomfortable unless it's sized incorrectly. A dress shirt's going to range from, what, cotton to some kind of polyester blend? They aren't made of steak knives man.

Related, if there's one illogical fear I have it's that of buttons. Like, I won't wear anything with buttons voluntarily, it just feels icky and uncomfortable but not in a physical way. I've usually attributed the fear to how I was often forced to wear buttoned clothing as a kid.
A life of hoodies and jeans it is for me.

I dont like the way shirt buttons feel, the stitching and back of the buttons always feel weird when you wear them.

wear a tshirt under them. they're kinda made that way anyway (and if you wear a white shirt for the love of GOD wear something under it i do not want to see your nipples.) almost every guy i know bitches about dress shirts and i don't get it haha. i love button-downs and polos, the best. and i am REALLY weird about my fabrics - if it's not really soft i can't wear it. and almost all womens' formal wear is itchy and stiff and uncomfortable because beauty > comfort apparently ><

The only time I dislike wearing decent-looking clothes is when it gets too hot and humid for them. Fortunately, I'm at an age where it's still acceptable to wear jeans/shorts and a t-shirt.

I actually really hate polos. It feels like the lazy way to dress up, and all I can think is that I look like a child dressed by his mother or I'm getting ready to retire to the golf course.
Probably the most awful type of clothing.
