The Beatles are pretty rad, but I mostly like their works in the later sixties.

Not the best, Meat Loaf takes that spot.

We're getting dangerously close to 90's boy band territory.

Bowling for Soup was pretty much the most amazing band I've ever heard, you know?

I look forward to seeing it - if you want some help or opinions on something just hit me up with a PM.

Confession:

I've become completely indifferent to stories that are told only from a human perspective, or that feature only human beings; I guess I'm just not interested in stories like that - truthfully I may never have been.

For me it's the non-human elements that make a story interesting.

I used to feel this way with my story, but the more I fleshed out the world, the more that... problems began to appear.

Things like natural inequalities between races that could only live in certain climates rather than those that could live over wider areas, the fact that each race used their affinity towards a select number of trades, and a bunch of other stuff that ended up setting off a "this is an allegory for racism" flags in my head.

Plus, eventually, I came up with an idea of a common ancestor, and explaining why the hell fairies and elves and dwarves were related to eachother just seemed really odd.

I do still want to include non-human characters, but I need to find a different way to fit them in. It doesn't work for this story without feeling really weird and psuedo-social commentary (which I really don't want it being taken as).

Sometimes I look at the title for the video game sales thread and misconstrue it as "Video Game Sells" like it's a topic where people are concerned about how well a game is selling.

My stories occasionally end up being accidental parallels/metaphors for human issues. Personally though - from both a written and illustrated viewpoint - I would just rather work with non-human beings.

On elves, dwarves, etc; I don't really work with humanoids of that kind. My (recent) stories tend to be set on worlds which have no human beings at all - more often than not I find myself leaning toward writing about intelligent machines. It could be argued that I imbue them with human characteristics but in all honestly I find that consciousness/sapience/perception of reality throws up similar issues and environmental pressures regardless of the being that is experiencing those conditions of mind and body.

I guess also because I'm not working with planet Earth most of the time I'm building entire worlds from the ground up - and I don't need to depend on human beings as a default organism.

I really dread going back to my hometown, it just feels so isolated from.... everything. Not only do I barely have access to internet, but maybe 1 friend of mine will be in town and there'll be nothing to do. My parents will bug me about sitting on the computer all day but really, what's the alternative? It's only 4 days I'll be there but ugh, it seems like a long time.

I can't tie a tie without looking it up but a fucking clip-on?

you need to explain to your mother the importance of a proper, real tie

because clearly she does not understand matters of gentlemanliness

I'd take a clip-on tie over a regular one any day. They're not patterned nooses.
