i mean NOW we all know the stormcloaks are the worst

but when the game came out everyone hated the empire because nobody had really delved into it yet

I remember a let's player being like "empire=bad because empires are always evil in fiction, right?" I just watched and thought 'lolno'
I mean at least with one of them in power the Thalmor's plans are going to pot and if you don't hate the Thalmor you might not be playing the same game.

Well duh, they totally can be hilarious in a video game.
And Caesar isn't post-apocalyptic Hitler, he's post-apocalyptic Caesar.

Except, you know, he isnt. At all. He PRETENDS he is and his followers go along with it, because he's the only one in the Legion who actually knows that Ancient Rome was like, but even they werent as bad as the Legion. About the only thing they got in common with Rome is slavery, everything else is just another warlord in the wasteland.

There is the crucifixions and arena combat and total war intimidations, but whatever. You're just looking at the "post-apocalyptic horde" aspect of the Legion without seeing how it could be similar to Ancient Rome.
And they certainly have a lot more in common with the Romans then they do with the Nazis. You're thinking about the Enclave on that one.
