You guys may or may not have heard about this, but one month ago, Steve Mann (Canadian computer engineering professor and cyborg) was assaulted by employees at a McDonalds in Paris for wearing an eyepiece that is wired into his brain that they thought was a camera. Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but it's for real. He even gave them his medical papers which they proceeded to tear up. And the best part is, he filmed it all with his cyborg eye. Here's a Forbes article about the same thing.

I'm posting this in current events because he only recently blogged about it.

The fact that he has pictures of the people who assault him means that there is a bright future ahead of us. In a way it is a form of protection. If someone does something to you, it is recorded. You can't assault someone without repercussions.

I don't understand why he didn't cloak and then reappear behind them with arm-blades of death

I don't get the logic of allowing people to carry guns and at the same time allowing people to get shot for carrying guns. Unless you actually want western-style gunfights in the streets.
