Shit yeah, Washington. Best state. I'm telling you, the PNW (and Idaho) could break off and make its own country. There's a large enough difference between us and the eastern side of the country that it feels like two separate nations anyways. Between the four states, we can grow pretty much everything except tropical fruit in sufficient quantities. There's plenty of industry here to keep an active economy, not to mention like 3/4 of American tech stuff is located here. Granted, that last reason is why the rest of the country would never let us break off.
Herp, tangent over.

It is really weird to see the rest of the country hotter than Southern California.

It's a bit weirder to see that the east coast is hotter in every way than Texas

We're having a lot of storms down here in the Gulf Coast. It helps a lot.

My aunt did have to evacuate her home in Colorado due to the fire, but no word yet on whether her home is still there.

Just fuckin' shaking my head here at how absolutely stupid people can be when it comes to drugs. I don't understand why they do it. It destroys your fucking body. How could that be worth a high? Just... god daisies. I personally think anyone who does them deserves to die horribly. :colbert: That's just my two cents and I probably sound like an idiot, but.

EDIT: My friend just told me he did weed once and now I am seriously considering blocking him because I don't roll with people like that.

I can understand drugs but understanding the temptation doesn't mean I approve of people giving into it. I can also see the point in the argument that it's THEIR body and they can do what they want with it, etc., but at the same time I just don't see how any temporary appeal it might have could possibly outweigh logic? I don't consider weed that serious relative to other illegal drugs and I definitely think it has legitimate medical applications, but I also think medical marijuana gets abused way too much. I actually approve of smoking less than weed, mostly because there have been studies showing that very super occasional weed use doesn't have any noticeably negative repercussions... though pretty hypocritically I don't mind smoking cigarettes at all in fiction and can't deny the "smoking cowboy/badboy" archetype is appealing to me in stories. Whoops.

I wouldn't do either of those even if given the chance, though. I just don't see the appeal and wouldn't put either in my body willingly. If I want to feel giddy and act stupid I'll just stay up really late and look at gifs on the internet.

I don't understand it either, Boo. And whilst marijuana does have medicinal purposes, and I believe that it should go no farther than that. The issue I have with drugs such as marijuana is that people act like it's no big deal. Drugs of all kinds, marijuana included, are traded in Mexican drug cartels, which are notorious for infighting and cause many, many deaths each year. So if you live in the American Southwest, you're drugs most likely came from them.

Except a lot of people in America grow their own pot and sell it

Our cocain, heroine and meth mostly comes from the cartel, but our marijuana does not.

Oh, well yes. I'm in one of those small towns that's basically just a huge drug hub. When I say I approve of smoking less than weed, I'm not factoring in anything but the actual use of it by people and how it affects their health. The kind of violence drugs cause is just insane.

Marijuana is the one drug that I'm not sure about. No conclusive studies from a reliable source on its long-term effects other than potential pothead personality.

The others though, I took a class on narcotics and we got to see the effects of what different drugs do to the human body over a long period of time as well as immediately. Flesh rotting, teeth falling out, psychosis, track marks on your arms, emanciated frame, etc. Heroin users look especially ghoulish.
