"Boy caught hiding meat"
So many bad jokes.
But yeah why was he hiding meat in his pants?

Yes, that is the newspaper I deliver. Written, edited, and printed by fucking children.
And I don't know what the kid was thinking. Probably high and hungry.

Re: The Current Events Thread
We have people in poverty that try stealing meat like that all the time. Usually they just get reported and keep the meat, however, if they try to do it again (even in other stores) they get arrested.
Though, sometimes, they'll get arrested the first time, depends how much trouble they cause and how sympathetic the manager is.

Re: The Current Events Thread
I need to show that link to my mom.
The worst part is that jobs around here usually require a degree to get into, even "shit jobs" (as my friends like to refer to these places as) like Starbucks or Target. They have so many people applying with degrees that they throw out high school and college student applications, since they're more of a "liability" and more likely to leave when they find a better job. Besides that, other jobs go to either people who have extensive work experience (mostly not kids my age or younger), or go to people who have a "higher need" such as older Americans who have been laid off in the job cuts. While this is a good thing, it means college students have less disposable income, they have to take out more loans, they have to live with mom and dad, and when they get their degree, they may have little to no job experience, which looks like they sat on their asses all through high school and college when they did in fact try to get jobs constantly.
Also, there are a few people with multiple jobs, which is really pissing off people with no jobs.

Funny how that works.
"I can't get a job, so I'm broke! There aren't enough jobs to go around!"
"Work harder, deadbeat! I have three jobs!"
Sample conversation flow. Pretty sure everyone has heard that one.

I honestly wish that there were a way to get rid of tenured people and people who just don't want to retire.
Burn 'em to shreds, tear 'em to ashes.

Haha that link, I thought only 54 people had a job.Tall-Hatted Yanimae wrote:http://www.zerohedge.com/news/only-54-y ... a-have-job
Anyway, I am certainly glad for my work-study job. Working in a quiet library where I can get some work done; the only way I could manage 18 credit hours of class and 18 hours of work in a week. Even if its minimum wage its something, and I can use that income to take a tiny bit of pressure off my parents.
But yeah, finding a job in general is pretty hard. I remember job hunting, felt like fishing in a mud puddle. Makes you wonder, if young adults today are having trouble finding jobs and are going to be hit hard with student loan debt, what does that mean for the future economy? How is our generation going to act?

Re: The Current Events Thread
It doesn't make sense. I am just so angry that not only has the employment of young adults decreased, but their wages have decreased as well. Why is this?
Now, guys, if you had the ability to solve this problem, how would you do so?
I would give businesses tax breaks for hiring young adults. Although, I'm not sure if that's even legal.

So a man named Andrew Breitbart died today. If you don't know who he is, this video explains it pretty well
I think I can safely say the world is a better place without him.

OH SHIT, SON
Storms yesterday caused AT LEAST 13 tornadoes in Kentucky (that's where I am. Still sucks here, btw.)
West Liberty (town about 40 miles away) was pretty much destroyed. My sister is an EMT with the local department, and her squad was on loan to help out there.
The county I live in and several surrounding counties declared states of emergency.
Apparently tornado sirens were going off in the city I work in (20 mins away?) and they saw some weak tornadoes. (Shame, really. I was hoping at least the McDonalds I work at would have been destroyed.)
So yeah. Strong winds, heavy rain, and PANK lightning were the only things I saw from my house.
Power went out about 6:00ish yesterday. So I showered in the dark because FUCK YOU I smelled like cheap sandwiches and grease. Power came back about 8:00 or 9:00ish. No telephone or internet. Cell service went down about 7:00ish. Everything was back up this morning.
So yeah. I know one or two other forumites live or lived in Kentucky. Don't know where, though. *shrug*
