That doesn't sound too bad in hindsight.
@Stran: Easy solution, don't be conservative.

Yeah... Manifest Destiny was a dick move, but that's not too current. maybe not for Europe, I have no quarrel with Europe.

It was a joke.
But still, looking at the bulk of conservatives, aka the ones who scream loudest... "conservative" seems to mean to them stuff people 2000 years ago thought it would be a good idea.

the core ideals of conservativism are clouded by political moves to gain support from the over-religious christians.

Then a question: can you call yourself a conservative, if those who represent that movement in politics are a bunch of what you said?

I am conservative in the sense of where I lie on the left wing/ right wing line
not by any political group

Not sure if this has been discussed or brought up yet, but
after a teenage girl posted a long rant on Facebook about her parents, her dad takes things into his own hands and posts this video in response. (It's eight minutes, but it's worth it.)
So many kids have entitlement issues these days.

Komodo and I saw it when it was only at 13,000 views. I was worried it wouldn't get any attention but holy shit I was wrong.

This. Parents need to exercise their authority more often. I think that if we start teaching kids that they are not special snowflakes, we'll see a lot more progress.

Ehh, I like the way he handled it (mostly), but I do think there was some overreaction. Every kid at some point is going to want to vent about shit that goes on in their life, things they find unfair, etc.
Yeah, it was really a stupid thing for her to do and she exaggerated, but I'm guessing she's in that stage where "I know best and everyone is against me bloobloo" that teens go through. The point is, everyone needs a way to vent, and while she should have done it in person with a friend rather than posting it on facebook for everyone to see (and not exaggerated like a fucking child), I also think it's stupid to punish her this way rather than sitting her down and discussing the matter civilly.
I do feel like there's a growing pressure on kids with good parents to be perfect these days (my mom being no exception), to the point where if a kid gets into a fight with another kid or does something stupid, it's as if the world is ending. There needs to be punishment. Kids need to not be treated like they're the most wonderful and special little snowflakes ever. But at the same time, let kids make little mistakes. Punish them, but don't treat it like they committed murder.
And I think shooting the laptop was incredibly stupid. He could have easily sold it/given it away to someone who needed it (after wiping the information off) to make the same point.
But other than that, I liked the video, even if I feel it was a bit of an overreaction.

The parent(s) must not know how to read. The directions on the card (which you can easily read from the photo), says using your webcam, to redeem the code online. Nowhere does it say to scan the code to be directed to something. @RogerSmolski is dead on ... that code is to redeem something online, it's not a web address - just text. Maybe someone was looking for a their 15 seconds of fame???
I got text as well. Seems like a Hoax to me.
