Syobon, it all falls apart there. I understand that the person should not be extradited to the US, but the issue is that there are nations where an uploader of copyrighted content is legally protected by a law in that nation. How is that person supposed to be held accountable for infringing international copyrights when they are protected from that by their own country's law?

And the people DDoS'ing the DoJ's website, does anybody know why? Because if they are protesting SOPA or PIPA by cyber-attacking a government institution, then they're just exacerbating things.

That's too bad then, but that's how international law works. Else North Korea could extradite half of South Korea and execute them as well.

If the US can extradite people for breaking their laws, they're effectively setting the law for the entire world.

They aren't, but the US doesn't think so. They very daisies near embargoed Spain because the government in Spain didn't want to make a SOPA like law. The US is forcing other countries in the world to change the way the US wants them to change. At some point, they will find that the rest of the world does not want to change that much. The US is young and hasn't done all the faults that Europe, Asia and Africa has done. They are stepping right into something that soon might blow up like the French civil war.

They are protesting the only way they can that won't get them arrested on the spot. If they show up in person they will be arrested like what happened with many people in the Occupy movements. The government and corporations are setting the pace. Not the people. At some point the government must understand this. They are creating laws to control their people and that control is what the people oppose. If these laws were not created in the first place, nobody would be against the government like now.

I don't think we're going to get that crazy but I honestly do think we're headed in a similar direction. Government cannot be controlled by private interests otherwise bad things happen.

Brek, there are also petitions. Those don't get people arrested on the spot either. US citizens are also allowed to write and call the offices of their representatives in Congress. DDoS'ing the website of a government institution will just escalate things.

Which don't seem to be working too well. People see that their usual methods are being suppressed, the "legal" ones are being ignored, and government is being played like a puppet more and more.

They're getting frustrated and that's causing people to lash out.

Petitions don't do shit. Seriously. They already know what we want, they just don't give a fuck.

I am so game with that. But me voting with my wallet won't hurt much as I don't spend much cheddar on these things. Nor do I download it. I however urge everyone to join in. Even if you only cut your consumption by 50% you will be sending a pretty powerful signal.

So yeah, if any of the American users disappear, just know that Ame was right all along and the KGB infiltrated the American government and shut us all out. And they're coming for the rest of you next.
