I think the problem is the "without trial" part. That negates the prerequisite, since no one is checking if it's actually met.

I still like how they stuck Obama in there for no good reason. It mentions him in like one sentence and they stick his picture in there like the whole bill was his idea.

That's standard procedure these days. Will it piss off the voters? It was all Obama's fault.

Anything bad that happens during a president's term is entirely the president's fault. It's like all other branches of the government cease to exist.

I don't even think most people understand that there are three branches of government.

And only one that really matters.

Hint: It's not the executive. But people here can't be bothered to remember 535 names and political stances. Much easier to pile everything onto one person.

Well, legislative is powerful, but ultimately the real power of laws are left in the hands of the judicial branch. They're the ones who decide whether a law is constitutional or not, and no one can override them.

When's the last time the Supreme Court has called bullshit on any of Congress's shenanigans, though? Certainly not for anything important lately.

They haven't, but doesn't mean they can't. Judicial has the ultimate power, it just chooses not to use it.

You would think. I don't know why politicians do the things they do. Some of their stunts baffle me.
