[Just after the announcement ends, Dr. Walcott grabs his field kit]
"This is gonna be fun."
[The doctor then heads out the door towards Eternum's office, field kit slung over his shoulder. Sure, he's a loner, but he doesn't want to trudge all the way to the junkyard by himself; that's boring.]

Looks like it's time for Aaron to shine.lyrasen wrote:also addressing the upstanding member of society thing, i think we can just go with calling them upstanding members of society, BUT:

"Well thats no good." Paku said, after hearing the announcement. "Those mechs are bigger and thus stronger than mine. I'm not sure if I would be able to beat one in one on one combat. And I was looking forward to working with you guys. Oh well, I'm sure we can work something out. Come on, lets meet him in his office, wherever it is." Paku immediately set off on a swift walk through the school.
(Maybe we can help each other getting to the flag but then have a dramatic duel. I don't really want to fight against other members, indestructible mech vs some dude with a sword is a bit unfair.)

I was KIND OF hoping to facilitate that once we got there.Ablu2 wrote:(Maybe we can help each other getting to the flag but then have a dramatic duel. I don't really want to fight against other members, indestructible mech vs some dude with a sword is a bit unfair.)

i uh actually don't know how to link individual posts :I it's just something i never picked upShoolis wrote:Lyra, you could try making a post with links to profiles and just post a link to that on your first post. That might work.
anyway, before i make my post, i have an idea for an overlying plot beyond the whole "gather points and adventure" thing, but it won't start really coming into play until later. until then, i'd like a volunteer from each mission (excluding haunted house) for something related to that plot. i won't tell you what it is other than your character will then become more involved in said plot right now, the details come after you volunteer. i want it to be a secret.
edit:

One by one, the students who took on the Haunted House mission find themselves approached by a figure cloaked in darkness. The androgynous, monotone voice tells them to start with the library, then mysteriously vanishes. It's up to the students whether they take this advice or start the search on their own. If they ask anyone else, only those with the same mission as them will say they saw it.
(by the way, it's not too late to sign up for missions. if you haven't yet, just pop in and say what mission you chose, and if it gets to be kind of late, pretend you were there the whole time. i know how i'll deal with people who join after the first batch of missions are over and done with.)

I'm not sure whether or not I want to volunteer. Sure, why not? I, Ablu the second, volunteer for something secretly plot related.

As Josephine walked to the office, she was thinking things over in her mind. While Jo was unsure if the teacher's definition of "powers" included 'controlling robots', she knew virtually nothing about the others and their abilities. Aside from general strategy against the other two, those statue-mechas bothered her. How aggressive would they be?Ablu2 wrote:"Well thats no good." Paku said, after hearing the announcement. Then an idea struck. Just because we're on our own doesn't mean we should split up right away. Better to prepare for the worst. She didn't know if the others were so diplomatic, but she brought up her plan to them. She caught up to Paku, and said "Hey, Paku? I know he said it's a competitive mission, but think about it: if we can't use our powers, we may do better trying to subdue the statues as a group. What say we--the three of us, I mean--call a truce until we're the only ones left?" She paused, then saying in a lower tone, "Besides, if you try to deal with both the statue-mechs and each other at the same time, you'll be putting yourself at a disadvantage." She hoped the he and Knexas would agree to her temporary truce. She may be straightforward, but she knew how to think.
((Also to fateh and ablu: unless there's already a way to determine the outcome, I say we roll dice or something [i have a method for doing that for the intenet if you're worried about honesty] so that we don't spend forever and a half having will-battles against the other in an RP. Do you have any ideas?))

Slightly creeped out by the shady figure, Will takes his advice, and carries Mouse(with his telekinetic powers) -- which seems to be in a daze--with him. He puts him in seat next to him and awaits further instruction.

Re: The Awkward Zombie's Adventure Academy (RP/adventure thr
"Well...that was weird," said Andre. "Still, I say we take...whatever that thing was's advice. If he was a ghost, then whatever his intent, the library is where we'll find more ghosts."
"Yeah, probably," said Lyra uncertainly. "Or it could just be some jackass with an invisibility power."
"...Right. Still, it's the only lead we've got, so I say we check it out."
They headed towards the library together. It was on a main floor, near the center of the school, so as to be accessible from most parts of the building. Andre wanted to rush ahead to be the first ones there, but Lyra seemed fine with just walking and looking at the various areas as they went by. Either way, once they got there, they found they were in fact the first ones there.
Andre coughed a bit as he walked through the large doorway into the spacious, shelved area. He felt long, silky strands invading his ear-space.
"If this place was just renovated, how can this room have so many daisies cobwebs?"
"I guess they kept the library the same. Historical value and all that."
(Lyra will continue off from here later)

"Hey guys," Will says to the upstanding members of society. "What a coincidence meeting you guys at the library. Have you met mouse?" Will points to him. " He hasn't exactly agreed to be my partner yet, but then again, he hasn't said no either!" He mustered up a cheesy grin. "say did you guys hear an invisible voice recently? He's the fact I'm even here!"
Re: The Awkward Zombie's Adventure Academy (RP/adventure thr
"Thats exactly what I was thinking." Paku said. "I know this mech isn't quite as strong as the other ones, so it would be a good idea for us to team up. And personally, I'm not sure if you two would be able to handle them alone, mechas are quite a challenge to beat." He explained.
Paku looked up from the conversation and saw a door with a sign on it that read "Mr. Enternum's office."

Tap. Tap. Tap.
Eris strolled down the hall, cane in hand. It was a simple thing, made of oak with an iron ball to hold it by. He passed by the mission board again and inspected the signup sheet for the shipwreck again.
"Wyrm, Aaron, Coryn," he muttered before moving for the front door. "Wyrm. Wasn't he the one with the shovel?"

Rook is heading the haunted house mission, correct? I'm just assuming since Enternum and Helzek have already headed the other two.

"Sounds like a bundle of fun." Maxwell scoffed. He'd met people like that in his life, the kind of people who are naturally cynical and rude. People like that didn't have a tendency to see eye to eye with him.
Nevertheless, he had signed up for his mission, and it would be hypocritical for him to back away from a difficult task or intimidating man in a school intended for adventurers. There wouldn't be any time for him to conjure up a weapon after being escorted to the starting point. He pulled out his unfinished piece, scribbled in the last line with a quick closure, and began to play the only instrument he had at the time-a violin that he scarcely knew how to play.
The piece was, in a word, bad. He had yet to memorize the notes on the page, nor did he know how to play them. It was a miracle that he'd managed to conjure anything at all. He always named his song after he knew what kind of weapon was granted from it. In this case, it was a steel rapier. "Ballad of the Nobles. It should be a swell piece when I finish it properly. Now..." He traced the directory to Mr. Eternum's office, not a mere twenty paces away from where he was standing. Without another word, he slipped into the room to await further instruction.

OOC: Also I'll volunteer Eris for the shipwreck mission plot development Lyrasen.
