Sorry for the late entrance.

Name: Daron Wick
Gender: Male
Appearance: Dark Green eyes and Brown hair. He wears a black headband keeping his bangs in a split of two parts while the rest of it is unkempt. He has an average build and wears a dark red chestplate (Except it covers his back too). Wears a gauntlet on his right arm that's a dark purple.
Personality: He's very friendly, goofy, and easygoing normally, but he will pursue revenge if something happens to his friends or family.
Abilities: Skilled in punching and defending with his gauntlet.
Power: A second form, it's still a human form it just gives him power over dark magics. (Summoning weak shadow beings, darkness engulfing teleportation, etc.) If he doesn't have his gauntlet he can't transform cause he's one of those guys. Also it changes his hair to a Purple and eye color to Black. It also changes his armor to a dark purple and changes the shape to include shoulder guards, his boots become armored boots and extend to his knee, his gauntlet changes to a much smoother shape and the other arm gains a gauntlet.
Other: He doesn't flirt with chicks all the time.

Dr. Rook casually strode through the Academy, hands behind his back, taking his sweet time as he always did. He had no goal in mind, he was just enjoying the scenery. Occasionally he would stop to bow at a passing spirit or offer bits of whatever food he had in his labcoat pockets to mice.

As he entered the main corridor, he noticed the group of students surrounding the mission postings, or "field study board" as it had been officially named by his colleagues.

"New students? They seem to be early. Or perhaps I'm late. Hm. Nevertheless..."

Having warped without thought, Dr. Rook now stood in the center of the group, peering over his glasses at the postings.

"Ah. Interesting... Yes..."

He muttered to himself, unaware of having caught several students offguard with his teleportation. He stared at the board for a moment, then looked down at a pair of little... animal people.

"You'll want to watch out for this one." he said, pointing at the Capture the Flag assignment. "Only the TRULY brave sign up for Mr. Enternum's classes."

He grinned at the pair of students, then casually warped to the edge of the group and began to slowly walk away. He waved his hand in the air and shouted, his back turned to the group, "Good luck, students! I look forward to working with each of you."

Aaron was not enjoying his first day at the academy. Of course, he hardly ever "enjoyed" anything, and by his standards "angry ambivalence" meant the place wasn't that bad. He saw what he assumed was the sign-up board for missions, and decided to get a closer look.

"Figures this thing would be surrounded by goddamn giants."

It wasn't, of course; rather, Aaron was simply a tiny person. Stuck at the back of the group, he wisely (but reluctantly) resisted setting every one of their stupid faces on fire, and instead directed his spiteful glare towards a trash can off to the side. The rancid scent of burning rubbish filled the corridor, and the group at the board quickly diverted their attention to the tiny inferno ten feet to their left. Realizing that he accidentally gave himself an opening, he calmly sauntered up to the mission sheet (which considering the fire only made him look more like the culprit) and took a gander.

"Treasure hunt, eh?" His interest piqued, he read on. "Blah blah haunted ship, blah blah return all treasure, no questions... Pfff, yeah right."

Aaron noticed that a couple people had already signed up for this mission, and hoped beyond hope that nobody would want to team up. But just as he was thinking that, he noticed that the fire was out, and that one of the idiots was making a beeline right for him.

He always thought that maybe the secrecy would come in handy some day, but more often than not, it ended up being used for pranks. So for now, as far as anybody else was concerned, he was a fox. "So what's your power then, Eiffel-ears?"

"Hey, they're not that big...and, well, my power is obviously being the awesomest guy in school," he said jokingly. "Have you noticed it working yet?"

"Pssh, sure, don't tell me then. I don't care. You'd just better make use of whatever your power is when we need it."

Looking back, Andre realized he had just brushed off Will. He considered offering him a spot in their team, but then thought about whether he really wanted to, or if it was just out of guilt from rejecting his enthusiastic offer. In the end, he decided to go with his gut. "Sorry Will, but it looks like we're gonna have to be competing ghostbusters on this one."


(note: I don't know what upstanding members of society are going to call themselves, but I figured it could be a thing where a nickname for them is just a Fur)

Being rejected by the two furs, went on his way to go find the other kid on the list, strangely named named "Mouse". Without much time wasted he found the kid that he was looking for. He tapped on the shoulder and said "Hi names Will," while extending out his arm to shake hands.
"Is Mouse your real name?"

The others seemed to have stopped paying attention to Paku's demonstration, so he walked the mech back over to its spot and powered it down. He hung the controller and goggles on his belt. He wanted to see if anyone else had signed up for the mecha capture the flag mission yet, but didn't really feel like going back to the board to check.

Paku finally decided to sit down next to his mech and think things over.


(What are you guys talking about nobody is talking about the mechyard mission. Also, a reminder, my robot is 6 foot 3 inches, so it isnt much bigger than a normal human. Paku pilots it with a controller.)

[Dr. Walcott sits at a desk in the library, perusing the veterinary manual. He jots down detailed notes on procedures for canine and feline injuries.]

"It looks like I may have to order some spare organs from off the island. Wouldn't want to be shy a few spleens when someone needs a transplant."

[Walcott gets up from the desk with his notes and starts heading back to his office.]

Paku noticed two people talking about the mechyard mission, and decided to go see if they wanted to team up. He walked up to them and introduced himself. "Hello, my name is Paku. You are going on the mech yard mission? Care to team up?" He asked.

(It would be handy to keep everyones character sheets on the first post, to give us a handy reference, so we don't have to search through the thread for someones character sheet if we want to find something out.)

"Sure!" said Josephine, letting her hand fall for the moment, and looking at the young man who had controlled the robot before. With his mech, he would surely make a good addition to their team, however temporary. Along with the blond guy that she had just met, they all seemed tough enough to take on a few mechas. "Oh, and I'm Josephine. Nice to meet you," she added.

(that would be a good idea, but there's a letter limit to posts, so maybe Lyra can just put the page numbers of where they have their character listed so we don't have to go back and try to find them every time.)

while i'd just love to have to edit the front page every time somebody makes a new character, i'm afraid it is kind of rather annoying, so i'll be trying to come up with a permanent solution to the problem
until then you're gonna have to deal w/ it i guess

i'll address individual concerns when i get home from school. you can start the missions whenever, but you should probably take care of teaming up first (as you already have started) and then when you make a post saying you're actually starting, wait for a post by whichever person is monitoring your mission. so, if you're going for haunted house, wait for my post. treasure hunt is mander's and capture the flag is shoolis's.

also you can draw, write, whatever you want to do so long as it fits. do both, whatever floats your boat.

also addressing the upstanding member of society thing, i think we can just go with calling them upstanding members of society, BUT:
they are considered second-class citizens by most of the world, meaning some of the more jerkish characters would look down on them.

Lyra, you could try making a post with links to profiles and just post a link to that on your first post. That might work. ANYWAY.

Mr. Enternum's room was mostly dark, save for the single sphere of light hovering above the desk. Darkness, while being opposed to his own magical art, makes for quite the ambiance while teaching (or more often than not, punishing) students. His ever present rapier, the Ilyana,was laying on the desk, shimmering in the light with an almost ethereal presence. Glancing at the roster, he silently chuckled. "They won't survive past the second round. Especially with my trials." With this, he extinguished the orb with a wave of his hand, leaving the room in darkness.

Later an announcement rung throughout the school, with Mr. Enternum's stern voice.

Attention students. This is Mr. Enternum. Any students interested in attempting the capture the flag mission should report to my office as soon as you can. I will be personally escorting you to the start of the mission in the junkyard. Remember, NO POWERS ARE TO BE USED IN THIS MISSION. I don't care if you can turn a scrap heap into a thermonuclear missile with your mind, you must rely on your weapon skills to make it through.

IN ADDITION, I forgot to add that this IS a competitive mission. There is only ONE flag, so the first person to reach the flag will receive the points. That is all.

(I forgot to add that due my general lethargy, I will have a minimal role in this little game. I will only appear in this mission to show you the door and save you if you write your character into a death trap. Please do not attempt to seduce my character either, he is much older than yours and as such is not privy to your romantic bullshit. I'll have a map to the mission up when we get around to it.)
