To say how my last name is mispronounced would basically being the same as telling you all my last name, since it is only like two letters away from the word people most often use instead of my name. But I did know a family who was descended from Jacques Cartier, and people pronounced their name in every way BUT "Car-tee-ay". Carter, Cartyer, Carsher, etc.
