How the hell do you think I get anything to be my avatar? I have to resize/edit every picture I use.
You save the picture.
And - here's the tough part - you upload it to Imageshack, because Photobucket sucks.

beside I traced a scanned picture and added color to it

Ridiculously small bandwidth limit, for someone who would prefer not to use bandwidth from the accounts of other people, and it resizes large images.

Imageshack is best.
