Just as you are about to turn around and head outside the building to survey the immediate area, a low rumbling can be heard overhead. Immediately, the robots around you dive for cover. You immediately throw yourself against the wall, pressing flat against it. Your choice of location saves you a good deal of trouble as the ceiling collapses, burying a few of the robots. A particularly large stones crushes the floor where you had previously been standing.
where moonlight should have streamed through the hole in the ceiling, however, there was only shadow. And from that shadow emerged a black robot clad in blue, bearing down on you immediately with a large, sharp metal weapon.
Just before the attack lands, you push off from the wall, falling into a slide that carries you past Shadowman. As he swears under his breath and attempts to free the shuriken from where it lodged itself in the wall, you cycle through your powers. None seem terribly practical in this situation.
Shadowman turns towards you, shuriken in hand.
You're out of time.
A silver hand on a long, pressure sealed tube catches your eye. Recognizing Galaxyman, you attempt to pull him out of the rubble, ignoring the spark that travels between your hands as you pull. He seems to be built tough, he could be a useful aide against the ninja robot stalking slowly towards you with a grin on its face.
But Galaxyman will not budge. Out of options, you cycle again through your weapons in a panic. Without registering having even selected the powers, you fire off each one at Shadowman.
A metal bee is sliced in half, a pair of shears are deftly swatted away. A gust of wind achieves little more than ruffling the scarf worn by your masked assailant. A spinning barrier of jewels is lodged in the wall behind Shadowman by your itchy trigger routine.
Then, as Shadowman reaches you, snickering quietly, he seems to fold in half. A snapping of gears rings throughout the room as the frail robot is sucked almost entirely into a blackened rift that formed suddenly within his torso. In seconds, he is gone, as well as the black hole.
You fall to your now purple feet, your internal generator burning furiously to recharge your weapon systems.
Then another robot falls through the gap.
Then a second.
Then a third.
Turning to look at the figures behind you who are just beginning to dig themselves out of the rubble, you plan a course of action. The course of action is immediately scrapped when the first robot slams an earthen fist into your chest, knocking your body into Gutsman, who has just dug himself out.
"Let me handle this!" Gutsman slams his hands together, creating a deafening bang. The opposing robots took steps back, placing them again in the light. Stoneman, Needleman, and Crashman stand before you.
You're too busy wondering why you suddenly remembered their names to notice the Crash Bomb flying through the air towards your head.
You're knocked back, landing on Galaxyman. you apologize sincerely, them push off of his head to propel yourself into the night sky above the ruined base. You are not greeted by a pleasant sight- thousands of robots surround the fields, and a whole squadron of robotic birds patrol the skies above.

Dr. Wily sat comfortably just beneath the ground, accompanied by Drillman. He wasn't aware that anything unusual had happened the day before. As far as knew, the crater in the nearby forest was a result of the resistance's mad experiments.
He couldn't have suspected that it had been caused by the return of his age old foe.
"It should seem" he said carefully, with the voiced of a trained speaker, "that only five of Light's robots are capable of fighting back at the moment." The scientist kept his eyes on the screen in his hands which kept track of each weapon used int he battlefield above him.
Then the reports from Shadowman poured in, dumped immediately as the last effort by his mechanical brain as it was destroyed. They only indicated that all attacks had been from one robot.
"Protoman is back? How did he return so..."
Then the fighter exited the base.
Then the screen registered a shot from the Proto Buster.
Inside the base.
"Get me topside. Now."
Drill man obliged, tunneling a channel directly upwards with notches in the sides for Wily to climb with.
All Wily could do was ask the same two questions, over and over again, as he climbed behind the red robot.
Can it really be him!? And if it is, what will he try next?
