I actually almost cried. Am I the only one who feels the Salad Fingers is more depressing than scary?

I can only imagine a man in an insane asylum staring at a blank wall hallucinating all these terrible episodes.

I'm trying to come up with some backstory that relates to Salad Fingers was Slenderman before the "Great War."
Makes it creepier, and if you do it right it makes sense.
