Human nature finds more delight in making fun of people who are more flawed in some areas, rather than complimenting on people for their efforts.

Do you stop to look at normal people driving along or the car that somehow managed to flip on the center divider before grinding into a pile of trash cans?

That was the best and most accurate explanation I have ever read.

So bad "art" is interesting. And good art is meh?

Good art you've seen before, and usually has to really stand out to get noticed.
Eye wrenching terriblenes will catch your eye immediately with its likely use of over saturated colors and awful everything in general.

In my experience webcomics get more attention than standalone pieces of art.

Webcomics have a tendency to be spread around the internet more than standalone art pieces.

So would it be better if there as a art site that requires to pay to post?

No it would be better if there was a site that had quality control.

I'd say any given link in this thread, minus the occasional good stuff would be solid examples of what wouldn't pass.

Just find an art site with a community that isn't filled with 12year olds.

FA actually recently banned the posting of any 'Second Life' screencaps, so there's at least some quality control going on there.

I know dA does have some quality control but I think it's just that the 'garbage in' hole is bigger than the 'garbage out' hole.

DnD, saw your FA gallery. Is it pretty much all the same stuff as your DA work?

Also, I'm disappointed at the lack of monsters with tits.

It's pretty much the same except I occasionally submit my webcam images as standalone pieces there - and yeah, the journals are a bit more fruity.

Just so you know, you don't see any adult stuff on FA unless you have an account and are signed in and have adult material enabled.

I actually might get around to submitting some adult PKMN stuff at some point - but I go through phases of being attracted to different things and other times I want to draw cutesy innocent stuff and then I'll flip again and want to draw overly graphic adult stuff - so I generally have about 10-20 artworks on the go and find it hard to finish any of them.

In related news I have a huge boner for Samurott at the moment.

^^ Maybe you'll want to sig that, Grye? ^^
