I usually take about maybe 20 minutes to half an hour to do my sketches, but I really should put more time into planning out my drawings.

I have the bad habit of not planning out my drawing before doing the official sketch--which means that my sketches can take anywhere from ten minutes to an hour, depending on what poses and subjects I'm drawing.

But at least my sketches look better than that. Sheesh.

I draw a head and then figure out where it goes from that.

It's a terrible habit, I know, but it's served me well enough.

It can take me up to an hour alone for the sketch

I bet everyone is going to tell me that's fast now
I meant the fully finished piece - color, shading, detail, everything. You know, what you do before submitting it to an art website with "WIP" being in the title.

Yeah that's basically my method.

I usually do a really vague outline so I can get an idea of what the pose is going to be first. I used to draw things with no guidelines whatsoever (and in pen, too) so they tended to be incredibly deformed. :psyduck:

A lot of my coloured and shaded pieces in my DA gallery generally took around two-ish hours to do, probably less. I'm a very fast sketcher but my colouring method tends to take a while, especially if there are lots of smaller details that require different colours. :B
