I don't get how any of you can even say the DJ thing was in bad taste. Having seen a DJ booth and knowing someone who did radio for 20-odd years, these rooms are as secluded from society as you can get. You are in a windowless, interior, soundproof room. Some guy calls in an requests "Jump". So, since his job is to play what people want to hear, he plays it. He probably didn't even know this attempted suicide thing was going on. For anyone to get rustled at the DJ is ridiculous. If anything, get rustled at the guy who requested the song.

Though he could've handled the situation better. For instance, when they asked him to comment on the matter, instead of saying "I don't regret it for a minute," It would've been smarter to explain that
A: The song was a request
B: He had no way of knowing about the suicide incident.
