on the topic of life, i remember reading The Sea-Wolf by Jack London last year, especially the quote, "Life is a cheap and plentiful thing, except your own is the most precious thing you have". paraphrased, but something like that.

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, the bible merely inclined a better place but not a heaven.

All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.
