nothing in that paragraph you quoted says scientific theory is fact.
evolution is a rational explanation for the evidence scientists have gathered, but it is not a fact.

It is as factual an explanation of the universe as the atomic theory of matter or the germ theory of disease. Our understanding of gravity is still a work in progress. But the phenomenon of gravity, like evolution, is an accepted fact.

Going back to the Religion topic for a sec:
I used to be Atheist in the sense that I disliked anyone who was religious and thought I was better just because I wasn't. Over time I came to realize that atheism is kind of like a culty religion of it's own.
Nowadays I have my own set of beliefs that I have discovered just through thinking about things. Strangely, elements of all the major religions are included in my way of thinking. This lead me to think about something else.
I have no problem with people who are religious because it gives them hope and/or if they use it right (which is hard to explain.) I really dislike people who use religion to control people (The Catholic Church through most of the Middle Ages) or as a means of justification for bullshit moves (Islamic extremists and Evangelical Christians).
What I think is upsetting and wasteful is that when people devoutly follow a religion, they stop having their own opinion about why things are the way they are. Religions just tell them that this is the way things are, accept it and don't worry about anything else.
TL;DR Atheism is also a religion, don't use faith wrong, think for yourself.

I don't know, maybe because you take the time to be an asshole and say the whole forum pisses you off then you go off and make dumbass comments on subjects you don't have any understanding of.Bacon wrote:You don't need to be an asshole about it. Why are you being so rude?

AND you're always so quick to call me an asshole but in my opinion you've always been an a bigger asshole than I ever have.Bacon wrote:Yes, I clearly meant every single person in the forum makes me angry. Fuck you, DnD. You're mean.
I mean it's like you go out of your way to attack me for no reason whatsoever, like you have some unfounded grudge against me and I'm fucking sick of it.
I just let it slide in the past, but you're really not as clever or awesome as you think you are, so just back off.
Asshole.

After reading that I got reminded how scary nature can be.Karilyn wrote:Think about it. The immune system is designed to fight things which are in the body that aren't, well, your body. Males are, ya know, not women, and are as unborn, are inside the woman's body. And every time an "invader" is in a person's body, they get better at fighting it.
It's the woman's self-defense system trying fight off the male in the body, getting better every time.
But actually, when I remember my biology classes correct (I had a bio major, but I already forgot a lot, the class was just hhnnnnng), when womans are pregnant, their body produces a certain substance to surpress the immune system so it doesn't attack the unborn. There were some other details which I already forgot, this is all I remember.
I know you said guesswork, but the thought is still scary.

Actually, you've been guilty of being an asshole many times. Both of you knock it off and handle in private, but don't start flaming each other like little kids out in the open. Handle it in private in a mature manner.DoNotDelete wrote:AND you're always so quick to call me an asshole but in my opinion you've always been an a bigger asshole than I ever have.Bacon wrote:Yes, I clearly meant every single person in the forum makes me angry. The implication being that the immune system gets better every time it encounters a foreign substance. It's quite possible that it starts edging past the defenses that are supposed to suppress it, with greater strength with each continued pregnancy.
