I don't really know what to say to that. People are entitled to their beliefs, but when it comes to stuff like "If you eat pork, even accidentally, you are going to be punished for the rest of eternity." I just... can't wrap my head around it. I'd probably try to explain to him it was an accident and he didn't do it with the intention to go against his beliefs, but that seems like I'm telling him his beliefs are silly to begin with because it's just pork and he shouldn't focus on it so much.

This. Specifically pork fat.Bacon wrote:Baked beans are often cooked in meat fat.
IIRC, Israelis coat their bullets in pigs blood, as a way to help keep the neighboring Muslim countries from waging a direct war on them.Miss StarSeed wrote:I'd probably try to explain to him it was an accident and he didn't do it with the intention to go against his beliefs, but that seems like I'm telling him his beliefs are silly to begin with because it's just pork and he shouldn't focus on it so much.
"We won't just kill you. We'll send you to hell for all eternity!"

I'm not soulless. I have plenty of souls. They're just not mine.

Most kinds of baked beans include bits of meat, or sometimes even drippings in the sauce.Decker wrote:I didn't even know baked beans were meat
Always read your labels carefully if you follow a strict diet. I had to facepalm at my friend when she was SHOCKED, ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED when she read the label on her can of vegetable soup and found out the broth had beef in it. I felt bad after but still, never just assume things. I'm always careful about medication I take because I'm deathly allergic to pencillin, which... is kind of common in the medical practise.

I think my eyes must be broken then compared to you guys then... I tend to notice people more so by what they're doing then by what they look like...Tall-Hatted Yanimae wrote:I always more so associated things like Racism and Homophobia as having a directing resentment, hatred or just disdain towards people like that.Miss StarSeed wrote: I bring this up because Bunyip mentioned how she dawws when she sees homosexual couples, and it reminded me. She's not noticing them because it upsets her or she wants to single them out, she supports them and wants to see their relationship develop. Yet the same definition applies.
Is there such a thing as a "positive racist", if we were looking at the first example, of the girl who thought different skin tones were beautiful and to be prized? Or is it still just as bad to single somebody out, even if you intend to do so in a positive way?
I do the same thing though. I will notice a Black person or someone of different color from the crowd more then others.
But when in a crowd mostly made up of people of that different color, I notice White people first who stand out in it.
I think it just has to do with an eye noticing something out the average. We always do this with people with crazy outfits or makeup who just look different than the rest of the population you see or are used to seeing.
At least that's what I think.

Well I'm not really on a diet, but I still never knew. It's always weird to learn something new about something you thought you already knew.
