I have to agree wiith Tall Hat on this one. When people find out about me being Catholic I immediately get jumped on. I have never tried to force my religion on anyone. I find it rather ironic then that they are the ones who rush at me and try to criticize all the choice I make.

Why are you trying to stop controversial discussion in the thread made specifically for it.Firestorm wrote:Let's just accept the fact that two people being together and happily married is a fairy tale that exists in only the most magnificently structured delusions of a person's mind and be done with this discussion, alright?

I never even think about forcing my beliefs on another unless they want to know what I believe.Snarf wrote:I have to agree wiith Tall Hat on this one. Best part when they generalize you to being part of a group of, like every other major group that holds a similar opinion or belief, a few crazy extremists that force their opinions down other's throats.
Then they try convincing your belief is wrong and do the same thing they accuse you of doing.
Best day ever.

I know, I know. It's just that I live directly in the Bible Belt and I've heard this argument/discussion so many times that I'm about ready to rip my ears off. You can't win an argument with someone hellbent on gays not being pop flyin'. I've tried.Torizo wrote:Why are you trying to stop controversial discussion in the thread made specifically for it.Firestorm wrote:Let's just accept the fact that two people being together and happily married is a fairy tale that exists in only the most magnificently structured delusions of a person's mind and be done with this discussion, alright?
BUT IF THATS THE CASE WHAT AM I DOING HERE

It happens to me all the time. The best part is that in their minds they think you see them all as heathens and sinners.Tall-Hatted Yanimae wrote:I never even think about forcing my beliefs on another unless they want to know what I believe.Snarf wrote:I have to agree wiith Tall Hat on this one. One of my friends is getting an Abortion tomorrow.
I had another friend who has had one before.
Not much to say. I'm really against it and I feel like it's taking the choice to live from another being. I could care less how "underdeveloped" the baby is. It's still a baby that's turning into another being.
But I can't force someone not to do it so I wouldn't try. Their life, as much as I am against it.

This thread is here specifically to talk about things people might not like. That's why we have it. If you don't like it, you have no right to immediately declare a cease on it, because that contradicts the whole purpose of the thread. It's here to let us talk things out that can incite flame wars. If you don't like what's being talked about, just stop looking at the thread.
I wasn't even being serious when I said to stop the discussion. Even if I did mean it, I know it wouldn't stop, but I never meant for it to in the first place. Partial waste of a post on my part then, I suppose. I know when I've fucked up.Decker wrote:So stop reading the thread if you don't like this discussion.Firestorm wrote:I know, I know.
