Eh. That wouldn't make sense either.
They have quite elaborate war games. My father was the captain of a submarine which carried nuclear bombs before he became an ambassador in Afghanistan. The "games" they'd play with other ships and submarines was, as far as he described it, very intense, and might as well have been real combat, stopping short of only killing each other.

The whole oil fiasco is... well, it's considered a minor issue by most people who actually understand the point of the war. The main reasons are varied, there's no singular reason, but they're generally:
1: As the government says it is- to reduce terrorist activity all around and to essentially force ceasefires with the warring nations.
2: To spread democracy, which may or may not be an actual valid reason for invasion, depending on who you ask.
3: Out of a sense of unfinished business. Remember that G.W.Bush's father didn't finish his war, and the history between the two nations does date back quite a bit.
...except it's even worse. Because the purpose of the war is to implement the same government and political system. So it's essentially saying "Also, if we win the war, we're going to make it so that sending people straight to hell will be done here too!"
Oh yeah, and as for the whole insurance company issue... I can't really see the issue here. Firstly, the actual rape has nothing to do with it. Secondly, if someone's taking anti-HIV tablets, it's for a reason, and insurance companies can't take the time to tell if the person taking said tablets is entirely checked out that they don't have HIV. It does sound unfair, but just because of the way things are, not because of the insurance companies themselves.

That... would be pretty much the worst possible thing you could do. See, for defending, it might work on a "if you invade us, you're going straight to hell" basis. But when you're the one attacking, it turns into "we're invading your country to send you straight to hell"! Take a wild guess as to how that mulls over with the general populace.Karilyn wrote:While a funny picture, it does bring up a good point. Would the "War On Terror," as it's called, have been over years ago if we had simply taken advantage of the pig phobia?
Of course, inevitably the human's rights groups would have been throwing a fight. But I can't help but think how many people's lives would have been saved if we were like "Hey, FYI, all our soldiers guns have bullets coated in pigs blood. And any terrorist bodies we recover, will be buried in a casket filled with pig entrails. You might wanna surrender if you don't want to go to hell."

That is a valid point. Thank you for pointing it out.Oh yeah, and as for the whole insurance company issue... I can't really see the issue here. Firstly, the actual rape has nothing to do with it. Idealism is sweet. It's a shame the world doesn't work that wayDeiphobus wrote:war is hell. war is death. to me, at least, this war has next to zero reason.
However... It takes two to tango, but it only takes one to wage war.

Not to mention its a very round-about way of population control. ((Increasing or decreasing depending on the time period.))Crawfish wrote:People will always fight over something stupid.
Why? Without conflict, people lose jobs. That's an oversimplification for sure, but it's valid. If there was no need for armed forces, many would be unemployed.
