Fuck, I shouldn't have come out of the closet until after I leached my parents for college cheddar.

Well, I just heard it on the news once, so it could be very wrong. Worldwide, maybe it's the same, but I guess since only a few states in the U.S. actually allow same-sex marriage, it could be skewed. Looking for a source, most just say that gay marriage records aren't old enough to really tell, so.
Oh well.

I feel the same way, actually. Some people really are just like that.

It always stuns me to see these fanatics bring their five-year old kids with them to protests and wave around those terrible signs. They never had a chance to grow into well-adjusted adults.

It makes me feel ashamed to be categorized as the same religion as these people.

As much as I hate seeing those protests, it always brightens my day ten times more to see "outcasted" ones from the protesters with signs like "God blessed me with a gay son", and "God loves me regardless of my sexuality", etc. than just not seeing a protest at all. If that makes sense.

Well no, being a well-adjusted person is based on being able to set yourself aside from peer pressure and traditional teachings altogether, and that's entirely based on the person, not how their parents try and push them. A child that's highly tolerant and caring just because their parents pressure them to is not any more well-adjusted than those children, they just have more respectable values.
Not that it actually matters or anything, considering for the rest of society it's just the end result that's considered. Being a well-adjusted person only matters in micro-social matters.

Those people came to my town a couple of years ago to protest at a soldier's funeral. They left after fifteen minutes because the press was more interested in talking to and filming the hundreds of counter-protesters. Apparently, they're only dedicated to their message if they can get it on television.
Both sides brought small children along.
