Oh, that reminds me.

Why do some people hate on gays that are in the closet? I never really understood the reasoning behind that.

They think they're cowards and that hiding because you think your family will no longer love you is stupid.

Ah. Under some circumstances though, I think it could be better to remain in the closet. Coming out can create a lot of unessecary tension.

For me gay people are people like everybody else, well ok exept the hardcore gays (as people called them earlier), but they are still human. I mean, when you look at 'normal' people, everyone is as unique and different. I kinda feel bad for the people who can't tell their parents because they have the wrong idea because of what media made out of them, or having wrong impressions and prejudices.
I know how this is because I have such a familiy. They are very religious (atleast my grandparents, my parents lesser, but they still remain on catholic 'classification'), and my mother is racist as hell (contradicting herself, since she is from poland), my grandma always makes jokes (some harmless ones, but then aswell some ones where you just think "...shut...up"). We get the topics to talk about from TV, because it's always running when we were eating together. And when it came to something about homosexual people.. oh god. My mom couldn't stop ranting, and my grandma always said things which could be summed up as "They should gather all homosexuals and burn them".

Sometimes I wonder how I could become so 'normal', or rather different, since I had to endure such shit nearly everyday. I mean, when I look at someone, I see a person. They may be white, black, asian or whatever, pierced, punks, goths, gays, lesbian... they are all living creatures like me. I really hate it that humanity has this mentallity of "it's not the same like us, we will kill it; but since the law forbids killing... let's atleast bully the hell out of it".

I don't see why two people can't love each other. I mean, really, go for it guys. More power to ya.

i really hate it when people generalize another group and say they should all burn. i hate their conceitedness and arrogance. and i hate that these beliefs are so cemented that they won't listen to reason or logic.

really, i thought jesus's message was about love and forgiveness. if we all understood each other a little more things like this wouldn't happen.

Meh, the divorce rate thing doesn't really bother me. It makes marriage seem like a more realistic, attainable thing everyone can have than just "holy" people who can be joined in a forever bond. That... sounds like a really horrible way to put it, but... I dunno, that's just how I feel about it. Divorce isn't the end of the world for everybody so my brain doesn't automatically assume all those divorces ended horribly.

I feel horribly discriminatory for saying it, but I like homosexuals regardless of their stereotype. Feminine gays (including the over the top ones) and masculine lesbians (once again, over the top) are as cool in my books as everyone else.

Plus, marriage is sort of a business. Divorces generally mean more marriage. Sounds good to me. I also like the fact that the homosexual divorce rate is almost nonexistent, tee-hee.
please stop that right now

I've heard the opposite.

That's because more often than not, you have to go through horrible scrutiny just to be able to be married. So really, only the most determined and strong relationships survive that inhospitable process.

I'm pretty sure homosexual couples have an averagely higher divorce rate!

Regardless of if you're gay or straight, everyone has the chance that their marriage won't last.

I would think both would have about the same rate of divorces.

Actually, I looked it up. Gay marriages haven't been legal long enough to get a reliable and mostly true statistic. But it also said that because Gay people have to work so hard in order to get married, this helps to strengthen their bond and can very well make them less likely to get divorced.

They won't have the same rate. There's a significant difference between cultures, remember?
