Hey that was pretty cool. This reminds me how X-Men was basically an allegory for homosexuality!Xeraphem wrote: cool stuff
And actually there probably is a lot of blood-related stuff, considering how it's instantly perceived as a dark and moody way to characterize something.

Homosexuality, Handicapped vs. Stairs, any minority you can think of, the X-Men in some form or fashion can relate to it.
Actually, come to think of it, Colossus turned out to be homosexual before Marvel killed him off. And add to him being bff's with a demonic-looking, wall-crawling, teleporting, Catholic priest in training: I SMELL A SITCOM! :awesome:

As long as a charcter is interesting, and at least a few times uses his/her power in a interesting way, I like him. Scarecrow is very unoriginal, but his character and his actions make me like him, because he uses it in a different way.Ame no Akai wrote:You know, I dare you to find a power that hasn't been used before. We've got waves after waves of superhero stories. I don't think you're going to find anything unique and non-retarded.
In other words, go for it. Just make sure the writing is actually good and you have interesting elements to flesh it out, and you should be good to go.

idk, I'm sort of a roleplay nerd (like, online forum stuff) so I've had my fair share of cool ideas for superpowers. I also at one point had a webcomic (that didn't take off, but still) about superpowered kids, so you have to have some originality. There was a kid whose power was to cause physical pain, one who controlled his own unique element (like periodic element) and could shoot beams based on it and such...Then there was the girl whose powers changed based on how the sun was reflected in the sky (morning, overcast, sunny, etc.).
So there are some ideas that haven't been done to death, but they're hard to appeal. Controlling water would just be good because it would take so much creativity and talent to attack. Freeze it, vaporize it, etc.
